Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine Volodymyr Saenko was exposed in preparation for giving a bribe for changing his preventive measure in the case of illegal alienation of property for more than 138 million hryvnias. This is reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General and the State Bureau of Investigation, writes 368.media.
According to the investigation, the official, through an intermediary, planned to transfer $150,000 to change his preventive measure by the Kyiv Court of Appeal, which was not related to detention.
Recall that in December last year, employees of the State Bureau of Investigation reported suspicion to the Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine. In 2019, together with other officials, he made a decision on the illegal transfer of the building of the state resort balneological hospital in Kyiv to a private enterprise. The hospital, which was not subject to alienation at all, was also sold at a much lower cost. The official was informed of suspicion on the fact of embezzlement of other people’s property, abuse by an official of his official position, committed by a group of persons by prior conspiracy, on an especially large scale (part 5 of article 191 of the Criminal Code).

In December, the court of first instance chose a measure of restraint for the official in the form of detention with an alternative in the form of bail in the amount of UAH 124 million, and also removed him from the post of Deputy Chairman of the Federation of Trade Unions of Ukraine for a period of two months. This decision has been extended several times.
