AvtoVAZ will start assembling Niva models again next week
The automaker will announce the details of the configuration by the time sales begin.
The Russian automobile concern AvtoVAZ has begun preparations for restarting the assembly line for Niva models, and it is planned to resume their production next week. This is stated in the official statement of the press service of the company.
According to the report, the welding of the first bodies has already begun, and at the beginning of next week the cars will fill the painting line. The release of the first commodity Lada Niva Legend is scheduled for the middle of next week.

Last month, AvtoVAZ once again put some of its employees into idle mode. The reason is the lack of components necessary for the assembly of machines, which are currently produced by the manufacturer. Employees who were involved in the stopped production of family cars on the VO and Niva platform were sent home from June 14 to 17. Prior to this, downtime at the enterprise was introduced several times, including from May 16 to 20, from May 11 to 13 and from May 4 to 6. On June 6, AvtoVAZ switched to a four-day work week.
At the moment, the uninterrupted assembly of cars at AvtoVAZ is hindered by the lack of components. The company ordered the necessary parts in China, but their deliveries are constantly disrupted.
On June 16, the press service of AvtoVAZ distributed information about the start of sales of the Lada Granta Classic 2022 model year. The cost of the car, according to the company, starts at 658,300 rubles, taking into account the benefit of 20,000 rubles under the trade-in scheme or when using the Lada Finance loan program. The press service also noted that the offer for this configuration is 103,200 rubles more profitable than the cost of the Granta Classic of the previous model year.
Recall that the 2022 Lada Granta Classic is a “lite” version of this model. It is devoid of airbags, ABS and other complex electronic systems. The manufacturer decided to compensate for this with painted door moldings, heating and electric mirrors. These options were previously typical only for higher trim levels of Lada Granta.
