A source Earlier, the Kurier trade union reported that about 600 Yandex.Food couriers may not come to work in Moscow from December 20 during a five-day strike. Yandex.Food denied reports of absenteeism of couriers to work. There were no complaints from employees, the service is operating normally, the company told Business FM. Earlier, the trade union “Courier” announced a strike due to unsatisfactory working conditions of the delivery workers.
Yandex.Food reports that the average income of couriers in Moscow and St. Petersburg is about 75,000 rubles per month. Earnings can reach 160 thousand – it all depends on the number of orders. Therefore, a record number of couriers enter the December sell-out for deliveries, and every week their number on the line is only growing, said the official representative of Yandex.Food Elena Novikova:

“The service is working normally, orders are being delivered, in Moscow today 12% more couriers have replaced them than last week. In St. Petersburg, the increase is even more impressive – plus 24% of couriers on shifts compared to last week. December is the peak of earnings for couriers, on average now in Moscow and St. Petersburg they earn 350-450 rubles per hour. There are also seasonal surcharges, coefficients related to weather conditions and peak orders. This year we will spend about 70 million rubles on New Year's bonuses.”
Earlier, the Kurier trade union announced that it was going on strike from December 20th. Their main requirement is to increase income, reduce delivery zones. Restaurants and shops have not yet noticed problems with couriers, says PR director of Azbuka Vkusa Alexandra Sobolnikova:

“We do not observe any difficulties and deterioration in the quality of delivery. All couriers work, orders are delivered. We see that the demand for orders through the service is growing, we do not observe any delays or shortages of couriers.”
In a conversation with Business FM, the union stated that in addition to calls not to go to shifts, they plan to sabotage work establishments, delaying queues at the box office. Restaurateurs confirmed that there are no complaints about the operation of the service today, and they do not support the idea of blocking the work of cash desks.
