The 222nd single-mandate electoral district in Kyiv is one of the smallest in terms of the number of registered candidates for people’s deputies. There are only 14 of them here (8 party nominees and 6 self-nominated candidates). Among them: two teachers from the capital’s universities, a medical university student, a people’s deputy, the head of a public reception for a capital deputy, a little-known ex-“regional”, a retired colonel general, a political scientist and, of course, Darth Vader.
Majoritarian district No. 222 in the Solomyansky district of the capital includes 86 polling stations, which are planned to receive about 177 thousand capital residents on the day of the early parliamentary elections on October 26.
The district is one of the most modest in terms of the number of candidates for people’s deputies of Ukraine registered there. There are only 14 people vying for chairs in BP. Only one other majoritarian district in Kyiv, No. 218, can boast such a small selection of candidates. The rest of the capital’s majoritarian districts offer Kiev residents to vote for one of 20-30 registered candidates.
The 222nd single-mandate constituency is also original in that it represents more representatives of political forces than self-nominated candidates – eight to six. In Solomenka, nominees from the “Poroshenko Bloc”, “Opposition Bloc”, “Internet Party of Ukraine”, “Radical Party of Oleg Lyashko”, “Sirius”, “Strong Ukraine”, “National Democratic Party of Ukraine” and “Volya” are running for people’s deputies.
LIST OF CANDIDATES FOR PEOPLE’S DEPUTIES FOR THE 222nd DISTRICT
Representatives of political forces
District winner 2012
Experts call Dmitry Andrievsky, nominated by the “Poroshenko Bloc,” the main favorite of the 222nd majority district in Kyiv. At the moment, he is a people’s deputy of Ukraine from the Batkivshchyna party – he was elected to the Rada in the same constituency in 2012.
In the past, Andrievsky was a three-time deputy of the Kyiv City Council (from 2002 to 2012). He spent the first two convocations in the “Our Ukraine” faction, and in 2008 he joined “UDAR”, from where in 2010 he was expelled “for bad behavior,” allegedly voting contrary to his party members.
During the current elections, Andrievsky abundantly covered the entire area with posters with his portraits, and is conducting active “paper” campaigning from tents. Fortunately, there is enough money for all this.
In 1992-1996. Andrievsky held senior positions in business structures that carried out scientific and production activities in 1996-2001. was the head of the representative office of Franklin Group, Ltd. (Great Britain) in Ukraine. In 2001-2007 Dmitry Andrievsky became vice-president of Concern Kievpodzemdorstroy LLC, which specializes in the construction and reconstruction of utility networks. In 2007, he became president of Concern Kievpodzemdorstroy LLC, and in 2008, he was elected to the post of chairman of the board of directors of Inteko-Holding LLC.
In addition, the “regional” Maxim Lutsky, who was considered Andrievsky’s main competitor in the 2012 elections, is not in the district this time. Therefore, so far all the forecasts for the candidate from the BPP are rosy.
Andrievsky promises the people of Kiev a “European capital” with a reformed management system and public utilities.
Ex-“regional”
The “opposition bloc” nominated a native of Dnepropetrovsk, resident of Irpen, Alexander Belov, to Svyatoshino. Like other candidates of the “Opposition Bloc” in the capital’s majoritarian elections, Belov is not particularly popular among residents of the district. Most residents of Solomenka have never heard anything about him.
In 2008, Alexander Belov ran for the capital city council on the Patria of Regions party list, but took an impassable 102nd place there.
Probably, in the current elections, Belov is unlikely to receive serious support from the residents of Solomenka, although he promises them “Peace, stability and revival.”
Darth Olegovich Vader
Representative of the “Internet Party of Ukraine” Darth Olegovich Vader in the 222nd district is also fighting for the votes of the local electorate to get into the Verkhovna Rada.
The candidate is 23 years old, he does not work anywhere, he lives in Kyiv.
Note that this is one of the 12 Darth Vaders in the 13 majority districts of Kyiv. In total, there are 15 candidates with such names in Ukraine.
Let us remind you that “Star Wars” began to compete with Ukrainian politicians even during local elections in Kyiv and Odessa, but did not receive much support from the townspeople.
In his election program, this Darth Vader traditionally promises the Solomians the introduction of a simple, effective and transparent mechanism of government.
Radical “from a simple family”
24-year-old Leonid Kulesh is running for Svyatoshino from the “Radical Party of Oleg Lyashko”. He declares that he should become the people’s deputy from Solomenka, because he is from a simple family, participated in the events of Euromaidan and loves Ukraine.
At the same time, Kulesh works as the director of a Ukrainian-German enterprise, which, incl. engaged in the supply of goods necessary to strengthen the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The candidate conducts active campaigning in the district, visiting apartments, fairs, and courtyards to communicate with voters.
Kulesh, like his fellow party members, promises voters victory in the war in Eastern Ukraine, social protection for ATO participants and their families, and the fight against corruption.
Promoter of goodness and honesty
The leader of the Sirius party, Igor Nikolenko, also proposed his candidacy as a candidate for people’s deputy to the residents of Solomenka.
The candidate is the deputy director of the private security company Sirius, lives in Kyiv.
“My main goal is to restore the Ukrainian people’s faith in themselves, that we are the best nation and deserve the highest standard of living, and Ukraine should be the richest country,” Nikolenko states in his election program.

In addition, the candidate promises voters in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to promote goodness, patriotism, honesty and correctness.
Teacher from a medical university
A 25-year-old teacher at the Department of Anatomy at the National Medical University is fighting for votes from Sergei Tigipko’s “Strong Ukraine” party in constituency No. 222. Bogomolets Sergei Pavlovsky.
Almost nothing is known about the candidate’s past. However, now he is actively campaigning for Solomensk residents, including KPI students, to vote for him, walking around the district with leaflets.
The candidate’s election promises relate to achieving lasting peace in the country, reviving the economy and social standards of Ukrainian citizens.
Retired Colonel General
Pensioner Bogdan Pilipov, born in 1951, is also fighting for a deputy mandate in the 222nd majoritarian district. Here he was nominated by the “National Democratic Party of Ukraine”.
The candidate is a former military man who rose to the rank of colonel general. Since 2010, he has been the chief adviser to the president of the All-Ukrainian Interfaith Religious Christian Military Brotherhood.
The National Democrat promises the residents of Solomenka that, having entered parliament, he will work to improve the social protection of the population, the cultural revival of the nation, carry out tax reform, decentralize power and, most importantly, ensure national security and strengthen the defense capability of Ukraine.
Teacher from NAU
A teacher at the Department of Journalism at the Institute of International Relations of the National Aviation University, 33-year-old Artem Stelmashov desired a deputy mandate by applying for elections from the Volya party.
The official website of the party says that this candidate is also a political scientist, the head of the NovaUkraina.org portal and “an active participant in protest movements.”
This year, Stelmashov already took part in the election race during local elections in Kyiv – he ran for the capital’s deputies in the 55th majoritarian district in the Solomensky district from the Sobor party, but did not pass.
Stelmashov promises to the electorate to solve the problem of the insufficiently practical direction of higher education, regularly hold job fairs, develop a bill on the dismissal of heads of district state administrations and their deputies in the event of “failed” activities in the area of their responsibility, provide schoolchildren and students with free Internet, and introduce criminal liability for violation of rules by deputies personal voting.
Self-nominated candidates
Just a candidate
The list of self-nominated candidates for the 222nd majoritarian district in Kyiv is headed by the little-known unemployed and non-party member Dmitry Bogdan.
The candidate practically does not campaign in the region, and thereby probably freezes his unpassable rating.
At the same time, Bogdan promises voters to “seek peace with all our might,” build a strong army and restore public trust in the government with the “correct” personnel policy.
Medical student
“The youth will cleanse the power,” states the candidate for people’s deputy, 21-year-old medical university student Vasily Gilyuk, in the 222nd single-mandate electoral district from his campaign posters.
The candidate “came to light” during the Euromaidan events in 2013-2014, becoming the leader of the representative office of the National Medical University. Bogomolets on Maidan. He also led protest movements at the university itself, as a result of which the ex-rector of the university, Vitaly Moskalenko, was fired on charges of corruption.
Solomantsam Gilyuk promises to promote the creation of conditions and opportunities for the realization of every active citizen, the establishment of equal rights for all Ukrainians and the strengthening of the rule of law.
Head of the reception office of the capital’s deputy
Anna Gorokhovskaya, the head of the public reception of the Kyiv City Council deputy from the Samopomich party Maxim Konobas, also decided to try her luck at the early parliamentary elections.
The little-known candidate promises her potential voters to stand up for the state independence and territorial integrity of Ukraine, to cooperate with all the democratic forces of the parliament, as well as the President on the issue of protecting and raising the international authority of Ukraine. In general, he promises to be a conscientious deputy.
Political scientist
Ukrainian political scientist Roman Lipninsky, who lives in the Cherkasy region, for some reason decided to fight for the votes of the residents of Solomenka in order to get into parliament.
His campaign posters say that the candidate is supported by the Batkivshchyna party, but officially Lipninsky is going to the polls “on his own.”
It should be noted that Lipninsky officially works as the general director of the private company Ukrdomservice, which provides search and selection services for real estate for rent or purchase.
Having entered the Rada, the candidate promises to carry out five main reforms – the Armed Forces, medicine, law enforcement agencies, the judicial system and education.
Namesake of the capital’s deputy
Cashier engineer Alexander Chernikov, born in 1969, also ran for parliament without the support of any political force.
Let us note that the candidate is the namesake of the current deputy of the capital city council from the “UDAR” party. He does not carry out serious campaigning in the district. It is difficult to find information about Chernikov in open sources.
One of the main points of the candidate’s election program is the reform of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
“Love that warms”
The mysterious Lyubov Shaturskaya, born in 1983, also registered as a candidate for people’s deputy from the 222nd majoritarian district.
She is the head of the legal association “LK and Partners Consulting”, lives in Kyiv.
Shaturskaya’s election program begins with the phrase: “Love that warms.” Thus, the candidate promises voters to work in the Verkhovna Rada to increase state assistance for raising children, priority treatment for children of war and Chernobyl victims, as well as children from defective families, and the mandatory functioning of development clubs and sections in schools.
