US federal prosecutors have filed new charges Hunter Bidenthis is the second criminal case against the son of the President of the United States.
The indictment alleges that Hunter Biden “engaged in a four-year scheme to avoid paying at least $1.4 million in federal taxes he owed for tax years 2016 through 2019.”
The nine charges include tax evasion, false tax return and tax evasion.
In September, Hunter Biden was charged with possession of a firearm in Delaware.
53-year-old son of the president Joe Biden pleaded not guilty to the weapons charge.
The White House had no comment on the new allegations Thursday evening.
US Department of Justice Special Counsel David Weiss has been investigating Hunter Biden since 2019.

The indictment says the president’s son “personally received more than $7 million in aggregate income” between 2016 and mid-October 2020, but “willfully failed to pay taxes on time for 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019, despite having funds available to payment of part or all of these taxes.”

The indictment lists how Hunter Biden spent his money.
According to the indictment, he paid more than $188,000 on “adult entertainment” between 2016 and 2019 and spent more than $683,000 on “payments to various women” during the same period.
Hunter Biden “continued to earn well and spend wildly in 2018,” prosecutors allege.
As his income increased, so did his expenses, the indictment says.
In 2018, the defendant spent more than $1.8 million, including hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash withdrawals, approximately $383,000 on payments to women, and $151,000 on clothing.
In the indictment, prosecutors say he “had sufficient funds… to pay some or all of his back taxes when due” but chose not to do so.
Hunter Biden allegedly often wrote off personal expenses as business expenses, such as renting the Lamborghini he drove when he moved to California in April 2018 until his Porsche arrived from the East Coast.
The defendant reported extensive business travel in 2018, although he had none, the indictment says.
The opinion also mentions a woman who filed a paternity suit against the defendant after he was involved in a romantic relationship with her.
It alleges that Hunter Biden put the woman, identified as “Individual 1,” on his payroll shortly after she moved to Arkansas while pregnant with his child.
While not working, prosecutors said, she received a $22,500 salary that Hunter Biden falsely described as a business expense.
Although the woman is not named in the indictment, she is believed to be Lunden Roberts, a stripper who is the mother of Hunter’s unacknowledged daughter.
The indictment also notes that Hunter Biden joined the board of directors of a Ukrainian industrial conglomerate. Burisma Holdings Limitedwho agreed to pay him an annual salary of about one million dollars.
