The aircraft engine scientific and technical complex Soyuz filed a lawsuit against YouTube, Alexei Navalny, the Navalny LIVE channel and several other persons for the protection of business reputation, follows from the file cabinet of the Moscow Arbitration Court.
The lawsuit was filed April 14. On April 21, the court decided to leave it without movement, since the plaintiff filed it in violation of the requirements, in particular, by not indicating all the necessary information about the defendants and not providing all the documents required under the Arbitration Procedure Code. The term for correcting violations is set until May 22, otherwise the claim will be returned to the Union.
It is not clear from the court card why the lawsuit was filed. On February 7, Navalny’s channel aired a video about the Soyuz, the general designer of the plant, Mkrtich Okroyan, and his family’s property. The story in the video is led by Oleg Emelyanov and Ruslan Shaveddinov (recognized as a foreign agent), who are also listed as defendants in the lawsuit.
ASTC Soyuz was founded in 1943. The company’s website says that it develops gas turbine drives for electric generators and gas transfer pumps, power plants and turbojet engines for aircraft. The company’s website specifically emphasizes that the plant “never developed or produced Kh-22, Kh-59 and Kalibr missiles and has nothing to do with these missiles.”
Okroyan became the general director of Soyuz in 2001, and the reorganization of the plant began the same year. He held this position until 2005. Since 2020, Okroyan has been the General Designer of the ASTC.
