According to investigators, the man organized his private production of boats – the Bell Shipyard. There, under the guise of civilian boats, military ships were built. Oleg Belkov tried to sell them abroad – to the United Arab Emirates.
The court found Oleg Belkov guilty of smuggling military equipment and sentenced him to a suspended sentence.
– The Rybinsk City Court imposed a sentence of 3 years of imprisonment on probation with a probationary period of 3 years, – they said in the Yaroslavl Regional Court.

The story begins in August 2019. Landing craft were made under the guise of pleasure craft. The company received permission to release two patrol landing craft in the UAE without customs clearance, according to the documents. The same opinion was previously reached by the examination of the Research Institute of Shipbuilding and Armament of the Navy VUNTS of the Navy “Naval Academy”, which determined that, according to the performance characteristics, the vessels belong to the class of patrol landing boats and can be used as such. Bell Shipyard appealed against the decision of the FSMTC in the arbitration court, but was refused (.pdf).
