According to information, the FSB authorities remained dissatisfied with the results of the check after the explosion on Sievers Street. It turned out that the employees of the Rostov Border Guard did not always follow clear job descriptions, as well as safety rules. This was probably the cause of the fire and subsequent explosion.
At the moment, one of the versions of the explosion is a malfunction with the electrical wiring, which led to the explosion of fuels and lubricants.
However, another version is being actively checked – a drone could explode in the building of the Border Guard, which was discovered shortly before the explosion on the territory of the Rostov region. Deciding that it was a reconnaissance drone, the security services took it away and took it to the Border Guard on Sievers Street. There, most likely, the security forces tried to inspect the UAV on their own and, if possible, get a record from the camera with which it was equipped (whether it was a personal initiative or an order from the leadership is being checked). However, while disassembling the UAV exploded, and then the fire spread to the warehouse. Three employees dismantling the drone died.
The explosion in the building of the FSB Border Guard in Rostov-on-Don occurred on March 16. The building partially collapsed as a result of the fire.
