Law enforcement officers believe that they made money with the help of a “block on the negative”, promising to remove compromising evidence for a fee. A video of the arrest and search of the apartment of one of the suspects has been published.
According to operational data, the suspects created a network of anonymous Telegram channels, allegedly to cover the socio-political agenda of large regions of Russia. Administrator accounts were registered on SIM cards of mobile operators in Ukraine, Montenegro, Slovenia and Spain. During the searches, the so-called “cold” crypto wallet, money, mobile phones, tablets, laptops, and SIM cards were seized.
The names of the telegram channels are not specified, but the Ministry of Internal Affairs notes that the audience was attracted by bright and “toxic” names, and the posts contained false information that discredited regional officials and large entrepreneurs. For the installation of a short-term or long-term “block on the negative”, the suspects allegedly extorted money.
TK-channel Baza publishes the names of the channels that fell under the distribution. Among them there are also resources from the Volga region – the Saratov TG-channel “Vglush” (9.4 thousand subscribers), the Bashkir “Sodovaya” (7.9 thousand), “Bashkir Sting” (9.6 thousand). But the channels indicated in the table “Ufimskaya marten” and Samara’s “Volga Volga” and “Yamskaya cart” “BV” could not find in Telegram.
The investigator of the Investigative Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for Krasnogorsk, Moscow Region, initiated a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under paragraph “b” of part three of Article 163 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Extortion”). The detainees were taken into custody.
