“Our company’s experts have discovered an extremely complex, professional targeted cyberattack using Apple mobile devices. The purpose of the attack was the inconspicuous introduction of a spy module into the iPhone of the company’s employees, both top management and middle managers, ”he said.
It is specified that the attack is implemented using an invisible iMessage message with a malicious attachment. It uses a number of vulnerabilities in the iOS operating system and installs spyware on the device. At the same time, the implementation of the program occurs without the participation of the user and remains completely hidden from him, the head of Kaspersky Lab drew attention. After that, the program begins to quietly transfer personal information from the gadget to remote servers, including recordings from the microphone, location, photos from instant messengers.
“The investigation showed that several dozen iPhones of our employees were infected with a new, extremely technologically sophisticated spyware called Triangulation (“Triangulation”),” Kaspersky revealed. He also noted that the company has not yet found an effective way to remove the virus without losing data. user. The investigation into the incident will continue.
