In the Chelyabinsk region, the Investigative Committee is investigating a criminal case of kidnapping in 2009. According to investigators, a resident of the village of Smolino kept a random acquaintance in his house for 14 years, threatening her with murder. The captive escaped after the kidnapper, at the request of his mother, who lived in the same house, was hospitalized in a neuropsychiatric hospital due to prolonged alcohol consumption. The suspect is in a medical institution under the supervision of law enforcement officers. The investigation also revealed the man’s involvement in the murder.
Employees of the ICR suspect a 51-year-old resident of the village of Smolino, the Soviet district of Chelyabinsk, of kidnapping a person committed 14 years ago. A criminal case has been initiated under the relevant paragraph “c” of Part 2 of Art. 126 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. This is officially reported by the regional department of the TFR.
According to investigators, in the fall of 2009, a Chelyabinsk citizen met a girl and, under the pretext of drinking alcohol, brought her to his private house, where he kept him until recently. The victim was 19 at the time of the abduction. “After an exacerbation of a mental illness, the man was taken to a medical facility, and the woman was able to leave the household in which she was kept,” the press service of the Investigative Committee of the ICR for the Chelyabinsk region reports.
Now the suspect is in a psycho-neurological hospital under the supervision of law enforcement officers.
Investigators are collecting evidence in the case. According to the press service of the Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the Chelyabinsk Region, the most experienced operatives of the criminal investigation unit of the police headquarters are involved in the investigation of the crime. The course of the investigation is controlled by the prosecutor’s office of the Chelyabinsk region.
According to a law enforcement source, the kidnapper kept the captive in a separate room in the house where his mother also lived. The door of the room was closed with a padlock, there were bars on the windows. The man periodically beat and raped the girl, threatening to kill her.
The Chelyabinsk managed to escape on July 30 this year. The mother of the owner of the house called an ambulance for psychiatric help after her son began to behave aggressively and threaten to kill her against the background of prolonged alcohol consumption. The man was taken away by the doctors, while he did not lock the lock on the door of the prisoner’s room. The woman ran away, contacted her sister, who turned to law enforcement agencies. The escaped captive has been wanted since 2018 at the request of a relative.
According to the Telegram channel Baza, the suspect kidnapped another girl and killed her. The TFR confirms this. The released Chelyabinsk woman told the investigators that the owner of the house introduced her to her “wife”. Later, this woman confessed that the man was holding her by force.
Some time later, when the “wife” tried to call for help, the kidnapper stabbed her several times, dismembered her body, and buried her in the area.
Also, the escaped captive said that the owner of the house let her out of the room only to do housework and help his mother. She did not try to escape before, because she remembered the murder of her “wife”, and the kidnapper followed her with a knife. Law enforcement agencies have not officially commented on the fact of the murder.
