In the Arkhangelsk region, a 50-year-old Russian will stand trial for the brutal murder of a 64-year-old pensioner.
This was announced on Wednesday, April 12, by the regional department of the Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR).
According to the investigation, on July 9, 2022, the defendant, who was in a state of intoxication, suspected his victim of stealing the missing pack of cookies from him. He went to the woman and began torturing her, forcing her to confess to the theft. During the interrogation, the man put pressure on her elbows and knees, causing severe pain.
After being tortured, the woman was taken to the hospital, where she died from her injuries and pain shock. The next day, the sober man found the missing groceries at his home.
The criminal case was sent to court for consideration on the merits.
