The security forces have revealed new episodes of theft and legalization of state defense order funds allocated for the production of components for tactical missiles in the Rostov region, the amount of damage has increased from 80 to almost 700 million rubles, a source in the law enforcement agencies of the region told RIA Novosti.

At the beginning of the year, the Federal Security Service of Russia in the Rostov Region reported on the revealed fraud scheme of the general director of Zvezda-Strela JSC, the head of the 222nd military representative office of the Russian Ministry of Defense and the director of Taganrog Foundry LLC and Horizont TPK LLC.

According to operatives, when concluding state contracts for the manufacture of an integral part of a tactical missile, the suspects entered inaccurate data on the cost of the product into the calculation materials in order to steal this money later. It was reported that for this, as well as other episodes of crimes identified at that time, the damage amounted to 80 million rubles.

“In connection with the new episodes, five new criminal cases have been initiated: on four episodes of fraud and one criminal case on money laundering. The total damage has approached 700 million rubles,” the agency’s interlocutor said.

He clarified that the new criminal cases are also related to the theft by the defendants of state defense order funds allocated for the production of components for tactical missiles. According to the source, the cost of production was inflated several times, and the general director of JSC Zvezda-Strela spent the stolen money on the construction of hotels and mansions in the central regions of Sochi.
