Vyacheslav Zhyla is still in charge of the Youth Theater on Lipki
The ex-head of the Kyiv Academic Theater for Young Spectators (TYuZ) on Lipki, Vyacheslav Zhyla (pictured below in the center), dismissed by court order, actually retained control over the theater. In this, he was helped by dirty intrigues and the director of the Department of Culture of the Kyiv City State Administration (KSCA) Sergey Anzhiyak (on the collage below left), who appointed your director of the Youth Theater Maria Krivenko (on the collage below on the right), which. probably, there is no art or just higher education. The director of the Department of Culture does not want to hold a competition for the appointment of a new director of the Youth Theater and other theaters, manipulatively hiding behind the norms of martial law, although these norms have nothing to do with cultural institutions, writes HF.
On January 31, another meeting of the theater staff took place at the Youth Theater on Lipki, at which the director of the Department of Culture of the Kyiv City State Administration Sergey Anzhiyak announced that your director of the Youth Theater was appointed Maria Krivenko. This is the same Maria Krivenko, who, according to the actors, last year directed the theater during the incomprehensible foreign tour of the then head of the Youth Theater Vyacheslav Zhyla.
Discord in the Youth Theater team, caused by the masterful personnel policy of Vyacheslav Zhili under the patronage of the director of the Department of Culture of the Kyiv City State Administration Sergei Anzhiyak, led to the fact that the theater is left without a full-fledged leader and continues to slide into chaos.
Four days of Maxim Mikhailichenko and Vyacheslav Zhyla
On January 27, after the first meeting in the Youth Theater, the director of the Department of Culture of the KSCA, Sergei Anzhiyak, announced the order, according to which, for the duration of the military aggression, acting. Maxim Mikhailichenko, who has been working here as a director for more than 20 years, has been appointed artistic director of the theater. Like, Mikhailichenko is the only deputy director of the theater, because all the other deputies went before the dismissal of Vyacheslav Zhili, which took place on January 25.
But at the same meeting it turned out that Mikhailichenko was not a deputy director, but a director, so a mistake was made in the order for his appointment. The reason for the technical error, they say, is that Maxim Mikhailichenko is an Honored Art Worker of Ukraine, it is abbreviated as “z.d.”, so the Department of Culture messed up.
KV should note that the Department of Culture, which does not know stable cultural and artistic abbreviations, does not meet professional requirements. This is especially true for Serhiy Anzhiyak, who, before being appointed director, worked for many years as the first deputy director of the Department of Culture of the KSCA, and in the spring of last year, as an “expert at the Office of the President” and on the basis of a “travel letter”, de facto led the Department and was responsible for evacuation of works of art by extra-legal methods
Proving his incompetence, Sergei Anzhiyak said at a meeting on January 27 that “he was set up” and promised to return once again to the issue of appointing the head of the Youth Theater.
At the same time, allegedly on behalf of the theater staff, a libelous letter was sent to the name of the Kyiv mayor, the head of the KMVA and all the deputies of the Kiev Council, in which Maxim Mikhailichenko was accused of the following:
- that he is spreading Russian narratives, claiming that the war started because of the oppression of Russian speakers;
- after the start of a full-scale invasion, he sought to bring the Russian artist Alla Pugacheva to Ukraine;
- is a representative of the old team, which brutally threatened members of the team who did not take the side of the former leader (Viktor Girich) after the appointment (in the fall of 2021) of the new one (Vyacheslav Zhyla).
“… now these people are openly boasting on social networks that they used the mayor of the city, Vitali Klitschko, to return… This unfortunate incident casts a shadow on the mayor of Klitschko. We demand to immediately cancel the decision to appoint Maxim Mikhailichenko acting director-artistic director of KZKTVZK KATYUZ. We are sure that there are many worthy, pure personalities for this position, ”says the letter signed by the actor of the Youth Theater Igor Ivanov.
When asked by KV whether he was the signer of this letter, Igor Ivanov said that it was a “contact person”.
However, according to KB, the real author of this letter is Vyacheslav Zhyla.
Maxim Mikhailichenko, in communication with KV, said that he did not fight for power and position, and after the appointment of Vyacheslav Zhyla, he was not on any side of the conflict, being exclusively engaged in creativity. Moreover, Mikhailichenko fully and completely agrees with the statement of Vyacheslav Zhyla that it is necessary to create a children’s Temple of the Soul in the theater.
“But besides that, you need to create the Temple of the Soul in yourself,” the director noted.

He stressed that he was and remains a patriot of Ukraine and never made any pro-Russian statements. “During the war, such accusations are outside … But let it remain on the conscience of the one who (libel) did it”, Maxim Mikhailichenko summed up.
Probably due to the unwillingness to get further dirty in the intrigues of Zhyla, Mikhailichenko did not even come to the team meeting on January 31st.
Appointment of a creature
It is not known how the discussion would have developed if Maxim Mikhailichenko had come to this meeting. Because according to the evidence articles at the “UP.Life”, at the meeting the actor Alexander Zinevich stated that Mikhailichenko promised him to “fill his face” for expressing some other opinion. The article also says that (it is not known from whom) “there was a proposal – the whole theater should go to idle time, in order not to work” in a totalitarian regime “under the leadership of Mikhailichenko.”
Sergey Anzhiyak offered to appoint Maria Krivenko, your director of the theater, who, according to him, really holds the position of deputy director. How the dismissed Krivenko was reinstated in the absence of the director remained a mystery. Maybe the dismissal and reinstatement papers were retroactively corrected.
According to UP.Life, the majority supported Krivenko’s candidacy.

And the newly appointed director of the director of the Youth Theater Maria Krivenko promised to do everything for the powerful work of the theater and the proper development of the creative process.
Nothing is known for sure about the education and professional skills of Maria Krivenko. According to preliminary data from KV sources in the Youth Theater, she does not have a creative specialty or any higher education. If this is true, then it is not clear how Krivenko will perform his functions, because the head of the theater must combine the functions of administrative management and the functions of an artistic director.
It is worth recalling that this is the same Maria Krivenko, who, according to the actors of the Youth Theater, was appointed by Vyacheslav Zhyla as his deputy at the end of last year.
“During the war, the Theater was abandoned to the mercy of fate, creating an atmosphere of fear. During the physical absence of the director in Ukraine, the management of the theater is carried out by his deputy Krivenko M.E., who was appointed the day before and continues his criminal policy against the creative, artistic and technical personnel of the theater. Actors are not allowed to play in performances and rehearsals, they follow every step, they are forced to write memos under the threat of dismissal. A few days ago, the lead artist was fired, everyone is waiting for who will be next”, – says in a letter from the creative team of the Youth Theater to the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration (KMVA) Sergey Popko and the head of the Kyiv City State Administration Vitaliy Klitschko.
That is, it can be assumed that Vyacheslav Zhyla, using friendly relations with Sergei Anzhiyak and pressure on the actors, actually retained influence on the Youth Theater. Which will probably allow him to use the theater’s facilities for his own projects.
DepCult ignores holding contests
The Department of Culture of the KSCA takes, to put it mildly, an apathetic position on the issue of holding competitions for the heads of cultural institutions. But that’s not the case at all.

For example, at the end of December last year, the Lviv Regional Council announced the winners of the contests to fill the positions of directors of four communal institutions: the Lviv Historical Museum, the Lviv Museum of the History of Religion, the Museum of Local History and the State Memorial Museum of Mikhail Hrushevsky.
“The Law on the (Legal) Regime of Martial Law tells us that competitions for the appointment of leaders may not be held. But in the list of those institutions where competitions may not be held, there are no cultural institutions, there are enterprises … a form. No talk about bureaucratic procedures should mislead anyone. Because Maria Krivenko, who was appointed your director of the Youth Theater on Lipki only on January 31, is already in the registers as an authorized person of this theater. That is, candidates who are liked by the leadership of the Department of Culture of the KSCA and unscrupulous heads of theaters instantly receive positions, while others are quietly ignored by Sergei Anzhiyak and his subordinates.
Finally, it is worth recalling an amazing page in the biography of Vyacheslav Zhyla. In 2021, ICTV released a story that tells that on November 27, 2006, by the verdict of the Desnyansky District Court of Kyiv, Vyacheslav Zhyla was sentenced to five years in prison for embezzlement, fraud, forgery of documents and kidnapping. He served his term conditionally, so for several years he did not have the right to cross the state border of Ukraine.
Whether this conviction was subsequently expunged is unknown, because all those involved remain silent.
We also recall that the Department of Culture of the KSCA is mired in corruption scandals with X-Park and not only, although officials and pretendlike they don’t understand anything. These scandals in November last year led to the removal of the deputy head of the Kyiv City State Administration Valentina Mondrievsky from many years of curating cultural life in the capital and destination for this direction of the deputy head of the KSCA Anna Starostenko.
However, according to KV, Anna Starostenko is not very good at putting things in order in the Department of Culture, for which she regularly receives a scolding from Vitali Klitschko.
