Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a federal law that sets the minimum wage at 16,242 rubles in 2023, a correspondent reports. DOPs with a link to the official Internet portal of legal information, where the signed document is posted.

Thus, according to a document published on the official portal of legal information, from January 1, the minimum wage will be set at 16,242 rubles per month, with an increase of 6.3% compared to the previous year. This measure will lead to an increase in the salaries of about 3.5 million public sector workers.

Earlier, the Government of the Russian Federation noted that the minimum wage will be 4% higher than the subsistence minimum for the working-age population and its ratio to the median wage for 2021 will be 45.9%.

In November, following a meeting on supporting families with children, Putin instructed the government to submit proposals for an accelerated increase in the minimum wage so that it significantly exceeds the subsistence level.
