The President and his women
While spending his days in retirement and almost forgotten, the ex-president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, has released a book of memoirs. Before, Elbasy had already written either 26 or all 40 books, and therefore it is unlikely that anyone would have noticed the appearance of another imperishable book from the former head of state if Nazarbayev had not unexpectedly decided to reveal the most intimate secrets in his memoirs. He also admitted that for many years he had a second family.
Another creation Nazarbayeva bears the ingenuous title “My Life”. Since the Elbasy, who ruled Kazakhstan unchallenged for 30 years, has described his biography more than once, readers will not learn anything particularly new. Unless about how the transition of power was being prepared, and even then, according to reviews of Kazakh political scientists, Nazarbayev kept silent about a lot here. It’s right to tell the truth about how he chose his replacement in the person of Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, how he voluntarily handed over power to him and how it all ended in the end is dearer to himself. But the real revelation was the story about the secret wife who bore the elderly president two sons. Although you attacked the old man, is he the only politician inflamed with passion for the young and beautiful? Yes, at least for the deceased Berlusconi look!

She did not take a prize and somehow very quickly disappeared from the media field. As it now turns out, 19-year-old Asel brightened up the days of the 59-year-old father of the nation.
Family secrets
To begin with, Nazarbayev certainly would not have come to his legal wife and asked her for forgiveness, since at the time of his affair with Asel Isabaeva, he had not had a relationship with his wife for a long time. As the former son-in-law of the president, the husband of his eldest daughter, said Darigi Rakhat Aliyevthe Nursultan Nazarbayev family and Sara Nazarbaeva ceased to exist back in 1997. Perhaps this is a slander, but you can’t ask Aliyev himself – after a quarrel with his father-in-law and threats to tell about corruption in the president’s family, Aliyev lost his post as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary, the rank of general, and then was placed in a cell and eventually found in a noose. However, from the leaked data it is known that already in 2003, Sara Nazarbayeva had a passport with her maiden name. Naturally, for the “city and the world” the Elbasy’s family remained strong and impeccable. Sara Alpysovna continued to be involved in charity work, leading the SOS Children’s Villages of Kazakhstan foundation and the Bobek foundation. After Nazarbayev’s resignation, it became known that the SOS Foundation received millions in deductions from the budget, and Bobek, under government orders, printed textbooks for schools and universities, earning huge amounts of money. There were also rumors that Nazarbayev gave his wife $15 million as compensation, but the amount, in the opinion of many, looks too modest.
The ex-president also did not say that even before breaking up with his legal wife, he had an affair with a flight attendant Gulnara Rakisheva. A house was built for the favorite in an elite area of Astana, and around 2000, as the independent Kazakh portal Orda.kz writes, Rakisheva gave the president a daughter, for which she received the position of vice president of the national airline Air Astana. Soon she gave birth to a second daughter. On the sidelines of the authorities, the Elbasys were whispering with all their might about their beloved, calling among themselves Genoa. However, Rakisheva did not last long: she thought too much of herself, talking down to Nazarbayev and even trying to manipulate him. As a result, one day the favorite disappeared along with the children – it seems that she moved to London.
Rakisheva was replaced by Isabaeva, who later took her mother’s surname and became Kurmanbaeva. The subject of activity of the new “first lady” turned out to be art. Isabaeva became the artistic director of the Kazakh National Academy of Choreography, and then of the Astana Ballet Theater, created on the initiative of Nazarbayev – supposedly especially for her beloved.

Why did Nazarbayev suddenly decide to reveal intimate secrets? To ease the soul in old age, as some believe? But then he would tell about all his loved ones – if he confessed, then to the bottom. Although Nazarbayev is not the right person to open his soul to strangers.
So here again there is a calculation taking place. It is known how Nazarbayev’s fall from the throne ended: former comrades-in-arms, who had previously sworn allegiance to the Elbas, began to clear the country of the former president’s relatives, who lived in the public sector and business.
Nazarbayev’s sons-in-law lost their high-ranking positions, and his nephew Kairat Satybaldy ended up behind bars in a case of embezzlement on an especially large scale at Kazakhtelecom JSC. In theory, in such a situation, it would be more logical for the elderly leader to hide his illegitimate children far away, but how can you hide them if everything has been known about them for a long time? Therefore, the legitimation of heirs, on the contrary, is intended to become a tool for their protection. Like, now dare to touch the official fruit of my loins, my only sons, the successors of the family! Here, by the way, here’s something else worth paying attention to. The scandalous memoirs have not yet gone on sale – advance copies were sent to prominent politicians and journalists for review. And this also seems to be a thoughtful move by the Elbasy.
If someone from the current leadership of the country does not understand the hint, then Nazarbayev’s memoirs about himself can be quickly inserted into the book. And the former president certainly has something to remember. For example, back in 2014, the publication respublika.kz wrote about the correspondence of the then head of the Senate, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, opened by hackers, in which he wrote that he had bought gifts
The amount was clearly not in tenge – does it mean in dollars? And where does such money come from, albeit a high-ranking one, but still a salaried civil servant? No, definitely the old master of intrigue Nazarbayev has not yet lost his touch.
