Lviv “patriot” Taras Zadorozhny fled Ukraine during martial law: what is known about this petty swindler?

Against the backdrop of top politicians and businessmen plundering Ukraine, almost no one knows the name of the modest native of Lvov, Taras Zadorozhny. Well, smart people work quietly and try not to shine, writes Anticorrosive.

ABOUT Taras Igorevich Zadorozhny little is known. He is not particularly involved in politics, although at one time he tried to get into the Ternopil Regional Council from the Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists and for some time (2003-2004) worked with Sadovoy in his “City Development Institute”.

But, apparently, the Ukrainian patriot Taras Zadorozhny uses the rule – “a real Ukrainian should live in Poland.” At least he lists Warsaw as the city he lives in on Linkedin. There, according to insider data from the State Border Guard Service, he left Ukraine on 02/24/2022 at 17:09 in a Land Rover BC6598MX.

This is, of course, interesting, but the business of this humble patriot is much more interesting. According to Opendatabot, Taras Zadorozhny has two companies: Econikol LLC and Hetman Firm LLC. The latter is in bankruptcy:

In this regard, the following is interesting. Both Zadorozhny companies are engaged in the production and trade of medicines. And the bankrupt Hetman has a rather interesting history. The company had a license to produce medicines from 2011 to 2016. After Zadorozhny’s arrival in 2016, Hetman was declared bankrupt, and in 2017 the company held an auction to sell property worth one and a half million hryvnia.

The story with Ekonikol LLC is more interesting; there is tax evasion here. For example, in 2020, Ekonikol won 26 tenders for the supply of antiseptics for 366,200 thousand hryvnia. But the financial report indicated that all goods sold were equal to cost. In this regard, the net profit was 3,400 hryvnia, of which 800 hryvnia were paid in tax for the year.

In 2021, income was 447,900 hryvnia, and net profit was 11,400 hryvnia, from which taxes were paid:

This is pure tax evasion. Moreover, attention is drawn to the fact that Ekonikol LLC, whose main activity is stated as “Purchase and sales of indestructible iron mine,” wins tenders for the supply of medical equipment to schools in the Ternopil region:

However, in 2022, the government procurement shop ceased – Zadorozhny fled from Ukraine.

Although he shows Warsaw as his location, the actual location of this patriot is unknown. Because, according to his own statements, he is the founder of the real estate visualization company VisEngine, which indicates its registered address in London:

Although VisEngine legal entities are registered in the name of lawyers and nominees, where Taras is not listed. However, mail with the name Taras Zadorozhny was found on the domain itself. According to Linkedin, the company employs 22 people, and the company website says it has offices in the UK, US, UAE, Canada, Italy, Poland and Australia. Most likely, these are virtual offices and they do not have legal entities in these countries.

But the family ties of Taras Zadorozhny are much more interesting. Because from the category of small ones, in general, he was a swindler (just think, he hid several hundred thousand hryvnia from taxation and bankrupted the company – who would be surprised by this these days?) Family connections put him, although not among the first hundred swindlers in the country, but far from to the last one.

Where and how Taras met his wife Oksana Vinnik – history is silent. But the bride was clearly not poor: her father was Mikhail Ivanovich Vinnik:

Where Taras Zadorozhny began his business career, he was the CEO of the household chemicals manufacturer Gold Drop Ukraine (GDU) from 2004 to 2013. It was GDU products that were resold by Ekonikol LLC to the Ternopil regional department of education in 2020-2021.

Mikhail Ivanovich Vinnik, in addition to owning a number of enterprises with million-dollar turnover, is not a simple person in himself. Since 1998, he has been a deputy of the Rohatyn district council, in 2015 he ran again and continued to work as a deputy in the district council until 2019. Also in 2020, he ran for the regional council from the BPP, but was not elected.

According to the investigation of “Our Groshey” for 2014, the Department of Industrial Enterprises of the State Administration of Railway Transport of Ukraine held tenders for the purchase of sleepers at inflated prices, among the enterprises there was also a legal entity of Vinnik, LLC “Woodworking Plant “Rohatyn””, which won the tender for 6, 7 million hryvnia (in 2014 prices), then in the same year and in 2015 by another 5.5 million hryvnia. Since 2018 he has owned a Volkswagen Touareg with the number AT8817VK.

So Zadorozhny’s father-in-law is not easy. What led to marriage with such an enviable bride – calculation or feelings – is unknown, but Taras Zadorozhny’s wife Oksana Vinnik is also not a poor person. The value of Oksana Vinnik’s business is estimated at $4.28 million.

Oksana Vinnik lives in Warsaw (PL, 78, Warsaw, 04-647), so it is quite possible that Taras Zadorozhny, a member of the Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists, fled to her on the evening of February 24 last year.

As to what brought young Oksana and Taras together – feelings or money – doubts arise, since Taras is also from a far from poor and difficult family. His father, Igor Vladimirovich Zadorozhny, became the beneficiary of Energy Standard R LLC in June 2020, instead of Oksana’s father Mikhail Vinnik, and in October also became the head. The company’s activity is wholesale trade in solid, liquid, gaseous fuels and similar products.

From 1995 to 2005 he was a beneficiary of the public organization “Sports and Educational Aikido Club “Kotodama”. From 2016 to 2017, he was listed as a member of the OSBB “Bayki+” in Lviv. Since September 2020, he has been listed as the beneficiary of Laksar LLC, which was listed in the bankruptcy case of Vinnik’s company Edelweiss-Pharm.

According to the materials of the criminal proceedings opened in 2019, Energo Standard R LLC participated in a scheme to create a fictitious VAT tax credit for Palyvtorg LLC, which caused losses to the state of 4.5 million hryvnia. It has been established that accounting and tax accounting of Palyvtorg LLC, Blagogaz Zbut LLC, Energo Prime LLC, Optim Palyvo LLC, Energo Standard R LLC are carried out by related entities using the same IP addresses.

The essence of the scheme: from 2017 to 2019, officials of Palyvtorg LLC purchased natural gas from controlled enterprises at inflated prices and reflecting inflated volumes of purchases of non-existent natural gas.

It was also established that an official of Energy Standard R LLC used a cash account in Russian rubles. Based on the established facts, the investigation requested access to the company’s documents. The latest decision in the case was for July 2019, where the court refused to provide access to the documents of “Lvivska Zaliznytsia AT Ukrzaliznytsia”, where, according to the investigation, supply contracts were kept.

Perhaps, we were in a hurry regarding the rich family of Taras Zadorozhny – judging by the fact that his father-in-law made a “pound” in a company with a Russian trace, material interests still prevailed in the marriage of Taras and Oksana.

The Zadorozhny family has other interesting relatives. Zadorozhnykh’s registration address also listed Anna Doskich, the wife of Lviv City Council deputy from the BPP Ostap Doskich. Since 2014, Ostap himself has been listed as a third party in the court case regarding unauthorized occupied land along with the Zadorozhny family. Ostap has an older brother, Yuri Doskich, also a deputy of the Lviv City Council from the Servant of the People. In 2019, Yuri Doskich, as a candidate for people’s deputies in the 125th constituency, was going to initiate the construction of a customs crossing in the village. Boberka (Lviv region). According to rumors, the Doskich brothers are associated with Sergei Badyak, a smuggler and participant in schemes at the Lviv customs, with influence on the Gorodok and Zapad customs posts.

Why are we so interested in this, essentially, petty swindler and, in some way, “galahvast”? Yes, because Taras Zadorozhny is a typical representative of the class that Ukraine has nurtured over the past thirty years. See for yourself: a representative of the class that in Europe is called the intellectual elite, having graduated from college and tried his hand at politics, begins to understand that this is not Europe. And knowledge alone will not get you far. We have to adapt.

And then a rich bride with her businessman father comes into his field of vision. Then it’s a matter of technique and everything is as usual. As a result, a promising young man turns into a petty swindler with murky schemes. And the country is losing its potential elite. The story is, in general, typical. Which, to be honest, is very sad.
