The Investigative Committee for St. Petersburg opened a criminal case against the creator of the eccentric “Masyanya” for public calls for activities directed against the security of the state. How the famous cartoonist became a criminal, the editors of the online publication “Kompromat Group“
Criminal-political design
In St. Petersburg, it’s not that they were very surprised that the Investigative Committee investigators in St. Petersburg actually opened a case against Oleg Kuvaev*. “Masyanya”, even during her rise, was a rather malicious character. The character appeared almost 22 years ago in Leonid Parfenov’s program. Then the whole country learned what can be seen in St. Petersburg on excursions: “amazing, broken-down architectural ensembles,” “legendary well-lined courtyards,” and “priceless museums guarded by grandmothers for a salary of 100 rubles.” Black humor and jokes on the verge of a foul very quickly made the cartoon a name and glorified its creators.
In general, the animated series about Masyanya and Hryundel was conceived as a comic for friends. In those times Oleg Kuvaev* was immersed in the production of games for the Internet, and he made Masyanya, in his words, purely “for fun,” for himself and friends, making fun of the girls he knew. And then the bully and hooligan suddenly quickly won her place in the sun. In the spring of that year, Masyanya made her debut on television, the cartoon collected an absolutely incredible number of awards.
“Prank” for friends turned into work. Kuvaev* opened an animation studio and hired additional employees. The ratings for “Masyanya” in Leonid Parfenov’s program went through the roof.
For Kuvaev*, a difficult period of trials with pirates and those wishing to make money from “merch” began. Nowadays there is such a thing as “merch,” but in those years it didn’t exist. The image of Masyanya was used by everyone and at their own discretion. During the heyday of the popularity of the flash series, Kuvaev* could make a fortune for himself, because there was no end to advertising offers, but the creator of Masyanya, for some reason, did not want his “girl” to demonstrate commitment to any brands. At least that’s what he said himself. Then, as he told the media, he was “tired of the fight for copyright” and decided to leave Russia (*aggressor country).
Help from Kompromat Group:
Oleg Kuvaev* was once a musician, played various instruments, but then moved away from music and went to Germany, where he worked and studied, planning to become an artist. He mastered sculpture and painting, but then plunged into computer graphics and retrained as an animator, and then created his “Masyanya”.
The promised taste
Help from Kompromat Group:
Kuvaev* was one of the founders of the musical group “Mitra”, from which “Splin” subsequently grew. This group, like Kuvaev*, spoke out against the SVO, and its musicians left Russia (*aggressor country).
Multifake
However, the creator of the “cheerful hooligan” did not hide his orientation now. He admitted that he was making Masyanya at the request of unnamed crowdfunders. The latest episodes were specially created with the goal of hurting the Russian audience as painfully as possible.
It is not surprising that after the release of the first episodes of the eighth season of Masyanya, the Mult ru website, where you could watch all the episodes, was blocked in Russia (*aggressor country) at the request of the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The accusations against the cartoonist are quite serious – Oleg Kuvaev* charged under article “Public calls for activities directed against state security.” The reason was a video in which Masyanya calls on Russian soldiers to surrender using a website created with the support of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
For many doubters, the new “Masyanya” has become a kind of litmus test for sanity and adequate perception of the existing reality. By the way, not only Kuvaev came under criminal prosecution. Previously, a criminal case for fakes was opened against his colleague, cartoonist Pavel Muntyan*, who also worked on “Masyanya” and the animated project Mr. Freeman. Recently, a court in Moscow fined him 40 thousand rubles for discrediting the Russian army.
Criminal Article 280.4 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (*aggressor country) – on calls for activities against the security of the state, provides for punishment of up to 5 years in prison. The author of “Masyanya” himself told the press that he had not heard anything about the criminal case initiated against him, despite the official statements of the Russian Investigative Committee.
However, Kuvaev* will be punished only if he crosses the Russian border. In the meantime, as knowledgeable people say, he will probably show his true colors and continue to film nasty things about his hometown with the money of his Western “benefactors.”
“He’s still getting a five-star rating”our sources predict.
Our editors will continue to monitor developments.
