Head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov informedthat he managed to bring home his purebred stallion named Zazu. Moreover, the Ukrainian special services helped him in this, the politician claims.
Kadyrov acquired Zaza in 2012 ahead of the World Cup in Dubai. Since 2014, the horse has been kept at a stable in the Czech Republic, since sanctions were imposed on Kadyrov, and all his property was frozen.
According to the head of the republic, at the beginning of 2023, representatives of the SBU approached him through intermediaries and offered to buy the horse. They immediately named the price – $ 18 thousand.
“They knew about my attachment to the horse and did not fail – of course, I agreed,” Kadyrov said in Telegram.
“Given its real value and excellent pedigree, these are mere pennies! So, friends, if you need to bring something from Europe, contact the Ukrainian special services. Quickly, professionally, inexpensively, bypassing sanctions!” he added.
The head of the Russian region believed that Zazu would be handed over “somehow officially”, and the sanctions would be lifted. “But it turned out that the secret services had a daring plan – they simply staged his theft from a stable in the Czech Republic in collusion with the Czech police,” Kadyrov said.
Animal kidnapping
About the kidnapping of a thoroughbred English stallion became known March 7th. Presumably, the animal was taken out of the stable on the night of March 4. “Apparently, an unknown person removed a safety chain with a carbine from the sliding door in the stable and took away the breeding stallion,” the Czech police reported.
Edition Jezdci named the theft of a horse, an unprecedented event for the Czech racing industry. Kadyrov himself then blamed the Ukrainian special services and the Czech police for the incident. He also called Zaza the “first victim” of the sanctions against him.
The real value of the animal is estimated at 400 thousand crowns (1.3 million rubles). The horse has a mark on its forehead – in the form of an irregular white star.
IA “RBC”, 03/08/2023, “Kadyrov estimated his horse stolen in the Czech Republic at least $ 10 million”: Zazu, an English breed stallion stolen in the Czech Republic, owned by the head of Chechnya Ramzan Kadyrov and sanctioned as part of his assets, is worth at least $10 million. telegram channel.
“The media, according to the authorities, announced its cost at $18,000. Surely this artificial underestimation is connected with some kind of financial fraud responsible for its maintenance and care, only a thoroughbred Zazu costs at least $10 million,” Kadyrov said. Since about 2016, Zazu no longer competed in horse racing, but was used as a breeding stallion to further improve the breed.
According to open data, Kadyrov owns more than 120 horses that regularly take part in races. By the time the sanctions were applied, three of his horses were in the Czech Republic – Zazu, the stallion Mikhail Glinka and the sprinter named Dux Scholar. The last one was sent to Russia in 2022, as it had a new owner. Glinka’s fate is unknown.
IA “RBC”, 03/07/2023, “A stallion belonging to Kadyrov was stolen in the Czech Republic”: EU imposed sanctions against Kadyrov in July 2014. He was accused of “actions that threaten the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Ukraine.” The head of Chechnya responded to this by creating his own sanctions list against EU officials and the US president. In 2017, Kadyrov told about trying to lift the sanctions on his racehorses, including Zazu. Then Kadyrov said that the prize money they won “is transferred to the account, but they are allowed to use it only for the needs of the horses.” According to him, this decision “was barely achieved, otherwise they would have died of hunger.” The head of Chechnya also located under US sanctions. — Inset K.ru
