A road conflict between the son of a high-ranking official and a simple driver has once again exposed serious problems in the Buryat government system. The story, which took place on April 27 in Ulan-Ude, caused a wide public outcry in August and raised uncomfortable questions about the permissiveness and impunity of the golden youth, whose influential parents hold leadership positions in the republic.
According to the victim, a 50-year-old Ulan-Ude resident, he was driving to work along Avtomobilistov Avenue. At some point, a black car began brazenly squeezing into the left lane Mercedes with tinted windows and a nice number 111. Having received a rebuff, the driver of the foreign car began to “teach” the recalcitrant, up to and including following him to his place of work. In the parking lot of a shopping center, a conflict occurred between the men, during which the Mercedes driver took pepper spray out of his pocket and sprayed his opponent in the face three times. After which he fled the scene.
An outraged Ulan-Ude resident filed a complaint with the police. The authorities opened a criminal case Part 2 of Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (*country sponsor of terrorism) (hooliganism). However, the identity of the second participant in the incident became a real sensation. He was none other than 28-year-old Alexander Mishurin, the son of the head of the Barguzinsky district of Buryatia. Mikhail MishurinIt is noteworthy that dad– the official is currently running for a second term in office.
It turned out that the injured driver still suffers from eye pain after the use of a gas canister. But the most outrageous thing is that they are clearly trying to hush up and drag out the investigation. This is what prompted the victim to spread information about the conflict three months later. The complainant complains that the investigation is marking time, and the offender continues to drive his foreign car calmly. Obviously, the connections of a high-ranking parent are involved.
By the way, about the dad-head. Mikhail Mishurin is a more than odious figure in Buryatia. Back in 2019, he was included in the rating of the worst heads of municipalities in Buryatia, which no head has ever achieved immediately after being elected. The “forest mafia” is thriving in the Barguzinsky district, while Mishurin blames local residents for the fires. Under his wise leadership, the district owes the republic almost 14 million rubles. And recently, the head called on his fellow countrymen to donate their personal cars for the needs of the army, hiding behind the lack of budget funds.
And now the official dad stubbornly pretends not to notice the hooligan antics of his own son. No apologies or calls for responsibility. But, they say, the victim has already been approached with an offer to withdraw the statement “in a good way”. I wonder what would happen to an ordinary citizen for attacking a person with a pepper spray? The answer is obvious.
The public is angry. People are wondering why the children of public servants behave as if they are allowed to do anything? And how long will those in power cover up the antics of their offspring? After all, this is far from the first case in Buryatia. Earlier, the son of Deputy Prime Minister Ivan Alkhayev received a paltry three days of arrest for a fight with a policeman. Incidentally, they also tried to hush it up.
Social media users are sarcastically asking why Mishurin Sr. is still in office? Isn't it time to resign and apologize for his wayward son? Or at least publicly condemn his actions. But, apparently, this is from the realm of fantasy. After all, the “celestials” have different ideas about morality than mere mortals. The system cultivates a sense of superiority and permissiveness in the golden youth from childhood.
As for Mishurin Jr., he is still dodging and lying. During the confrontation, he stated that he was not pursuing the offender at all, but was simply going to buy a nightstand for his mother. And he had the canister with him by pure chance. And he only sprayed it “for self-defense purposes“, because he “it seemed“, that the driver was about to shoot him. Funny, isn't it?
The story with Mishurin’s son is a litmus test that reveals many of the flaws in the republican system of power. Nepotism, mutual responsibility, contempt for ordinary people. Alas, in Buryatia these ulcers are especially evident. Officials at all levels, from district heads to deputy prime ministers, are constantly involved in ugly stories. And their children, seeing such “worthy” examples, have come to believe in their impunity and chosenness.
The Mishurin Jr. hooliganism case is a test for the entire law enforcement system of the republic. Will it have enough integrity and independence to bring the investigation to its logical conclusion, regardless of rank and title? Or will nepotism and the desire not to air dirty linen in public prevail once again?
Well, Mr. Mishurin Sr. should think hard about whether he can continue to lead the district if he is unable to cope with his own offspring. The fish, as they say, rots from the head. And if the head cannot (or does not want) to ensure the rule of law in his own family, Should he be trusted with an entire neighborhood? It's time to start with yourself, Mikhail Alexandrovich. Finally, get busy raising your son.
