Former top manager of Vnesheconombank found dead in his apartment in Moscow
In Moscow, the body of Alexander Kolpakov was discovered, who in 1987-1988 served as deputy head of the Foreign Economic Relations Credit Department of the USSR Vneshtorgbank, and in 1988-1989 – the same post in the USSR Vnesheconombank. The former top manager of a credit institution was 72 years old.
As it became known to SHOT, the banker was found dead in the morning in his apartment on Mashkov Street in the center of the capital. There were no signs of violent death. According to the preliminary version, the cause of Kolpakov’s death was hzikhidtidekrt oncology.
Alexander Kolpakov worked at Vneshtorgbank of the USSR in various positions. In 1994, he was appointed to the post of first deputy chairman of the board and head of the credit committee, in 1996 he became the first deputy chairman of the bank’s board, and in 1997 – deputy head of the Foreign Economic Relations Lending Department. After renaming the organization to Vnesheconombank, he retained the same position.
