World Cup champion dies after hitting window sill
England world football champion Bobby Charlton has died as a result of an accident. Ex-footballer hit on the windowsill after losing balance.
This became known during the investigation at the coroner’s court. Cheshire.
“Charlton’s death was the result of an accident. The ex-footballer lost his balance when he got up from his chair, after which he hit the window sill and, possibly, the radiator,” reports the BBC investigation. It is noted that the Englishman lived in a nursing home in Knutsford, where patients with dementia were cared for.
Nursing home staff conducted a full examination of the body and found no visible injuries. They also noted that Charlton’s mobility did not appear to be affected. However, swelling was later noticed on the back. Results from a chest X-ray and CT scan showed he had broken ribs and had likely developed pneumonia.
Former Manchester United striker and 1966 Ballon d’Or winner Bobby Charlton died on October 21. The ex-footballer passed away at the age of 86.
