The Thai authorities hope that the Mir payment system will soon start operating in the country.
The Ambassador of Thailand to the Russian Federation Sasivat Wongsinsawat spoke on this subject, the correspondent reports. DOPs with reference to “Kommersant”.
The diplomat said that the parties are conducting a dialogue on this issue.
Sasivat Wongsinsawat said that Thailand hopes that the Mir payment system or alternative options will work soon. They believe that this can serve to increase the tourist flow, trade volumes, etc.
According to data on the site Bank of Russia, several years ago the Central Bank of the Russian Federation established the National Payment Card System, on its basis the Mir cards and the Fast Payment System were created.
This card is accepted throughout the Russian Federation. And according to the results of the first half of this year, more than 100 million Mir cards were issued.
