There are many dark spots in the lawyer’s career. According to the SHOT Telegram channel, Elman Pashayev has been suspected of fraud on multiple occasions. Several of his VIP clients reported to the police, complaining that the lawyer solved their problems with the help of his “powerful connections”, took millions for his services, but did not fulfill his obligations. In addition, one family in the capital accused Pashayev of taking away their apartment.
How much, for what and to whom does Elman Pashayev owe?
It is quite possible that lawyer Elman Pashayev could have decided to take a gamble with the Blinovsky spouses, who are currently involved in criminal cases on tax evasion of 907 million rubles, money laundering and aiding in this, because of a debt of 40 million rubles and the collapse of his legal career.
The lawyer’s problems began in the summer of 2022. Then the Federal Bailiff Service opened enforcement proceedings against him with the wording: “Other property-related collections in favor of individuals and legal entities” – for the amount of 36.5 million rubles. In addition to this amount, an enforcement fee of another 2.5 million rubles was added. In total, since then, the lawyer has been “hanging” seven proceedings for a total of 39 million rubles.
The fact that Pashayev is in financial trouble is also indicated by his tax debt for 2023, which is more than 700 thousand rubles. Bearing in mind the lawyer’s penchant for luxury items (at the peak of his fame, he changed luxury cars like gloves), the debt may increase significantly by the end of this year.

According to the SHOT Telegram channel, Pashayev was detained on Tuesday on suspicion of fraud committed on an especially large scale — for 45 million rubles. According to Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (*country sponsor of terrorism), he now faces up to 10 years in prison. The detention was handled by employees of the Military Investigative Committee, and a military court will choose a preventive measure, since the lawyer is an active serviceman of the Russian Armed Forces — a contract soldier in the 5th Separate Motorized Rifle Brigade in the DPR. A preventive measure should be chosen for him on Wednesday.
According to investigators, in the Blinovsky case, Pashayev decided to repeat the scheme of the “Mikhail Efremov case”: he understood in advance that there would be no successful solution to the issue, but continued to work on the “client”. First, he received a deposit, and then he was supposed to receive the full reward.
Preliminary, we are talking about the sum of 45 million rubles. In February of this year, Pashayev allegedly met with his colleague – Alexey Blinovsky. The latter had been in the SVO zone since April. He was allegedly persuaded to serve under contract by the same Elman Pashayev, who explained this necessity as “the first step towards the release of Elena Blinovskaya from the pretrial detention center.”
It seems that during the meeting the lawyer convinced Blinovsky to pay him 45 million rubles for a successful resolution of the issue. The blogger’s husband agreed and brought the required amount in cash in a bag. Some of it allegedly turned out to be in dollars.
How Elman Pashayev ended up in the SVO zone
It became known on May 17, 2023, that the lawyer had gone to the special operation zone. At the same time, photographs of Pashayev appeared, in which he was captured in military uniform. It is known that Pashayev and Blinovsky served together and were engaged in the supply and assembly of drones in the SVO zone. In addition, the lawyer went out with the fighters to reconnoiter the area. On April 19 of this year, while carrying out a mission near Ugledar, the lawyer was concussed and wounded in the leg as a result of a drone attack.

In the summer of this year, he returned to the LBS again, where, according to his own words, he received a second wound – a closed craniocerebral injury, a concussion, bruises to the chest and thoracic spine. In early September, the lawyer was on the front line near Krasnogorovka, and recently returned to Moscow, where he was detained.
According to the Unified State Register of Legal Entities, Elman Pashayev was the owner of four legal entities. One of them has not been operating since 2016; his bar association Pashayev and Shevchenko, which operated in Vladikavkaz, is currently being liquidated, and the Federal Tax Service has frozen the accounts of the International Law Firm Elman Group. Only Pashayev’s charitable foundation is still afloat, but, at least de jure, things are bad there too: according to the accounting reports, only 1.3 million rubles officially passed through the company’s accounts in 2023.
