In July, district deputies announced the start of accepting documents for the post of head of the Barguzinsky district of Buryatia. However, according to available information, only people with close ties to the current administration are being considered as candidates. Thus, among the most likely candidates is Mikhail Mishurin, the current head of the district, accused of numerous abuses.
One of the most resonant stories demonstrating the true attitude towards the law and ordinary citizens in the Barguzinsky district is connected with incident with the participation of the son of the current head – Alexandra MishurinaIn April 2024, Mishurin Jr., driving a tinted executive Mercedes, got into a showdown with a driver who allegedly prevented him from changing lanes.
According to the victim, Mishurin Jr. followed him to his workplace, then pulled out a pepper spray can and sprayed him in the face three times, causing a chemical burn to his eyes. Despite the presence of video recordings from surveillance cameras confirming the victim’s version, the investigation into this case, according to the victim himself, is progressing extremely slowly, and Mishurin Jr. and his lawyer are trying in every way to confuse the situation and shift the blame onto the victim. Who would doubt that daddy-head of the district will settle everything.
Previously, Babr and local Telegram channels have repeatedly covered the dark dealings of the head of Mishurin: from million-dollar debts to conflicts with district council deputies. Despite numerous inspections by law enforcement agencies, which the Telegram channel “Barguzinsky Priyut” reports, Michurin manages to avoid responsibility, apparently thanks to connections and “roof” at the level of the government of Buryatia.
Apparently, impunity and permissiveness have corroded the moral framework of the Mishurins and their cronies. And while the golden youth of Barguzin is driving around Ulan-Ude in expensive cars and spraying pepper spray into the eyes of ordinary citizens, the residents of the district continue to suffer from corruptiontheft and debauchery crimetaking place under the watchful eye of the local administration.
Despite the formal conduct of competitive procedures, according to available information, the actual choice has already been made “from above”: in favor of the current head Mishurin.
The members of the selection committee, which included representatives of various ministries, are simply trying to pull the wool over their eyes, eliminating undesirable candidates and leaving Mishurin and his technical associate Pargachevskaya.
The picture is completed by the cynical behavior of the head of the district and his cronies, who are already celebrating their victory in the upcoming elections. According to information from Barguzin Viber channels, in the territory children’s sports camp “Barildaan” (without official permissions and approvals) in August there was a noisy party organized by Mishurin. Vodka flowed like water, rams were roasted on spits, music, dancing… At generous tables they discussed plans for the future and agreed to support each other in the elections (along with the elections for the head, there will be elections to the district council).
Recently, pre-election games have been joined by local taxi drivers. They transport early voters (residents of hard-to-reach and remote areas can vote in advance) at the direction of the administration, agitating to vote “as it should be”. Apparently, they have already lost all conscience, since they are ready to lead their own countrymen by the nose. They do not even give the elderly peace. They call defenseless grannies, give instructions on who to vote for. And they can also threaten those who disagree: they say, if you do not listen, you will be left without a pension or benefits. So the elderly are forced to dance to the tune of unscrupulous politicians.
