Peskov answered the question about the date of the direct line with Putin
A direct line with Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected before the end of the year. This was announced by the press secretary of the head of state Dmitry Peskov.
“No, not yet. We expect that there will be a certain format by the end of the year,” the Kremlin representative answered when asked whether the date for the event had been determined.
In 2021, the direct line with Putin took place on June 30. It lasted 3 hours 42 minutes, during which the president of the country responded to 70 requests. It was not held in 2022.
In April 2023, Peskov reported that the Kremlin was counting on holding a direct line this year, but the timing of the event had not yet been determined. On May 5, the presidential press secretary, answering a question from journalists about the possibility of holding a direct line with Putin in the foreseeable future, said that the authorities would inform about this in a timely manner.
Direct Line is a traditional format for the president’s communication with Russians, during which he answers citizens’ questions live for several hours. This form was first tested in 2001.
