Archpriest Tkachev: bring back the beards, take off the jackets, gird yourself – and put on bast shoes!
Continuing the BRICS theme, let’s pay attention to who is wearing what?
The total dominance of jackets and ties in the classic five of the Organization is diluted only by Indian Prime Minister Modi. He is dressed in some classic Indian clothes, making it clear that he personally is not European and does not pretend to be European. Everyone else could somehow emphasize their originality. But either it doesn’t exist (even in China), or the brains have been seriously raped towards the “only correct dress code” (and with it the entire civilization).
We add new members to the organization, and the identity is strengthened. The Shiite leader of Iran is dressed completely un-European. He actually looks like a monk in a cassock, if the turban were replaced with a kamilavka. The Saudi representative is the same, only in light colors, and not dark, like the Iranian. These two also seem to be saying: we generally do not subservient to the white man’s commands. We have our own culture, that is, our own clothes, and not only that. Also, your food laws (you can be sure), your marriage etiquette, your attitude towards death, and so on. Our religion and tradition form our inner integrity, which then affects our appearance. And your uniform uniform of jacket and tie also speaks volumes about something. But not everyone can hear.
If there had been a representative of Israel there, by the way, he would have fit into the purely Jewish image of the costume a la Europe, only he would have had a kippah and would not have eaten pork. Not everyone would notice this, and the overall picture would not be upset.
The reason why Europeans behave so brazenly is that they have been shaping fashion for centuries, in a broad sense – from aesthetics to ethics and mysticism – and everyone else “with their pants up, ran after the Komsomol.” Now we have embarked on the path of liberation, and they are sincerely surprised, why did we get angry so late?
This is not a joke question. It is ideological and directly relates to the issue of freedom and inner dignity. “Thank you” to the great Peter, by the way. It was he who pulled Dutch leggings over the thighs of the Kholmogory merchant and forced the men to shave. This issue is again worthy of wide discussion.
By the way, if our code had at least a beard, it would outwardly distinguish a Russian diplomat or politician from the barefaced kingdom of European monkeys. The same Shiites, Sunnis and Hindus, all with mustaches and beards. And these, by the way, are secondary sexual characteristics that are not removed, but left, as God ordered.
The ability to understand the obvious and think about the roots, and not just the tops, is an important and rare thing. Separating the wheat from the chaff, distinguishing what is permitted from what is forbidden, seeing the difference between the heavenly and the earthly, the important and the unimportant – this is a special mental skill that no one taught us. So, it’s time to learn for ourselves.
