A paramedic from an Omsk village, who was advised by the head of the local Ministry of Health to go to the toilet in a neighboring house, quit

A doctor who worked at a paramedic-midwife station (FAP) in Omsk village of Berezyanka, resigned after the advice of the head of the local Ministry of Health, Alexander Murakhovsky, to go to the toilet in neighboring houses, since the FAP does not have the necessary communications. RIA Novosti reports this with reference to the regional Ministry of Health.

As the agency clarified, the department cites “family circumstances” as the reason for the doctor’s dismissal. According to the Omsk News publication, the prosecutor’s office organized a check of compliance legislation on healthcare, sanitary and epidemiological legislation.

One of the first who began to talk about the problem of equipping the paramedic station with water supply and toilet was Anna Pavlichuk. She, among other things, made a post in the Omsk public on VKontakte, where she said that the question of the need to bring the FAP into proper form was raised by deputies of the Omsk rural settlement more than once, but no action followed.

“The doctor is ready to receive village residents and provide them with primary health care even in such conditions, but the lack of a restroom calls into question his future activities at the FAP. Due to the lack of a toilet, the doctor needs to negotiate with residents of nearby residential buildings to visit their toilets,” Pavlichuk wrote.

Back in August, Alexander Murakhovsky responded to the woman’s comments – he suggested that the doctor go to the toilet in neighboring houses, and he also said that at the aid station there was a “washbasin where water is poured.” Also, the head of the regional Ministry of Health promised to install a toilet in the FAP during August. On September 6, he responded to Pavlichuk again.

“Anna, an agreement has been reached with the neighbors of this multi-apartment private building on the possibility of using the toilet,” Murakhovsky wrote. Two days later, he added: “I have decided to make changes to the primary care modernization program and plan to install a new modular first-aid facility in the village of Berezyanka in 2024.”
