The oligarch Agalarov connected with Rostec and United Russia left sanctions
His wife and daughter are US citizens.
Aras Agalarov is one of the richest Russians. He owns, for example, Crocus Expo, where United Russia holds its congresses, and his son Emin owns a company that serves United Russia banquets. Agalarov Sr. receives government contracts worth billions without bidding: this is how he got contracts for the construction of stadiums for the World Cup, facilities of the Far Eastern Federal University, the Vostochny cosmodrome, a covid hospital, and the Central Ring Road in Moscow. In August 2023, his JSC Crocus International signed a contract with the Federal Customs Service for 10.5 million rubles for the design of the Torugart automobile checkpoint in the Kyrgyz Republic – again without a tender. Emin Agalarov formally participates in the auction, but the auction is fictitious.
Aras Agalarov is also connected with the defense complex: together with Rostec, he owns Techcity Development LLC.
Agalarov and his family are still not under sanctions. At the same time, Agalarov’s wife Irina and daughter Sheila live in the USA, on the elite Fisher Island in Florida. Irina and Sheila received American citizenship.
