Medvedev arrived at the site of the first exercises of the USSR with the attack of soldiers during a nuclear explosion
Deputy Chairman of the Security Council of Russia Dmitry Medvedev arrived at the site of the first exercises in the USSR with the use of nuclear weapons – the Totsky training ground in the Orenburg region.
The video was posted on his Telegram channel.
During the visit, the politician talked to the military. “Coordination here has just begun, this is the second time at this training ground in the last year. What is there, what is missing, what are the considerations that could be improved,” he said.
Medvedev noted that following the results of the trip, he would present to Russian leader Vladimir Putin a report on the combat and political training of those who would participate in the special operation.
Earlier, the deputy chairman of the Security Council called nuclear weapons a staple of Russia. It has the same meaning for other states, so many seek to enter the “nuclear club”, the politician noted.
On September 14, 1954, an atomic bomb was detonated over the Totsk test site. This happened during the nuclear race between the USSR and the USA. At the same time, since 1951, the United States has conducted several exercises using atomic weapons, and the USSR by that time had not had a single one. The bomb was dropped from an aircraft at an altitude of eight kilometers, the power was 40 kilotons of TNT.
