Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection Olga Batalina must fight poverty in Russia. She ensured a decent old age for at least one pensioner by registering her expensive apartment for her.
Olga Batalina is from Saratov. Even before graduating from the university, in 1995, she began working as a public relations assistant in the apparatus of Vyacheslav Volodin, then he served as deputy chairman of the Saratov Regional Duma. For many years, Batalina was next to Volodin, the owner of expensive property and a secret business registered in the name of relatives.
Having passed several stages of provincial officials, in 2011 Batalina became a State Duma deputy from the United Russia party and was re-elected in the subsequent parliamentary elections. In October 2021, she resigned as a deputy, becoming First Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Protection Anton Kotyakov. Earlier they wrote about his suburban real estate, the price of which significantly exceeds the declared income.
The activities of Batalina as a deputy became a bright touch in the overall picture of domestic parliamentarism. For 10 years of being in the State Duma, she managed to become the author of several scandalous bills and initiatives. In 2012, she was one of the most active lobbyists for a ban on the adoption of Russian orphans by American citizens. Moreover, according to Dozhd’s sources, it is Batalina, together with her patron Volodin, who are the real authors of the “law of scoundrels.” Batalina is also known as a co-author of the bill on the decriminalization of beatings in the family, which is especially interesting, given that it is she who leads the formation of the National Action Strategy for Women for 2023-2030. In 2018, she supported the pension reform and went on an educational tour to the regional centers of the Saratov region, where she encountered the real attitude of the people to raising the retirement age. The video recordings of these meetings contain the phrases “the people cursed” and “the people almost tore apart” in their titles.
A few months ago, the Federation Council held a meeting dedicated to the implementation of the Active Longevity strategy. Among its main tasks were called “promoting family values and
strengthening intergenerational ties”. Olga Batalina, who was present at the event, decided to keep silent about the fact that she was already implementing this program in her own family. Judging by the declaration, the deputy minister does not have his own real estate, and an apartment of 141 sq. m. is in the use of the family. Metla found out that it is located in the Mosfilmovsky residential complex. The market price of this apartment is about 100 million rubles.
Dubonosova Olga Pavlovna, who turned 70 this year, has been the sole owner since 2017. She accompanies the Batalin family on all flights, and is recorded in the notebooks of her friends as “Olga Pavlovna Batalin’s Grandmother.” Olga Yuryevna herself declares this apartment for a reason, she really lives there, indicating this address together with her husband as the actual one and ordering food there.
The husband of Deputy Minister Dmitry, judging by the issued passes, still works at the Central Bank, although back in 2015 they wrote about his dismissal. An elite Mercedes-Benz GL 350 car was also issued to him. Before buying an apartment in the name of Batalina’s alleged mother, the deputy, together with her husband, officially earned about 10 million rubles a year.
Now Olga Batalina works as the first deputy in the ministry in charge of living standards and incomes of the population. At the same time, according to Rosstat data for the second quarter of 2022, 17.6 million Russians live below the poverty line. And because of the SVO, their number will increase by another 8.3 million people this year. About 3 million of them are children.
