Russian businessman Roman Baboyan, who introduced himself as the brother of the wife of the head of Bashkiria, was arrested in Moscow Radia Khabirova. On Monday, September 5, Kommersant reports.
According to the publication, the businessman forged a loan agreement for 150 million rubles, trying to recover through the court a penalty in the amount of 8 billion rubles from an acquaintance of an entrepreneur. The swindler also accused his victim of fraud. Although the court of first instance satisfied the claim, the Moscow City Court, after an examination, not only dismissed the claim, but also sent the case to the investigation. Realizing that the situation was becoming dangerous, the businessman disappeared and became a defendant in a criminal case under article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (Fraud on an especially large scale).
On September 3, Baboyan was detained by the metropolitan police, in addition to the case of fraud, another one was brought against him – under article 306 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (“Knowingly false denunciation”). The publication notes that the swindler in business circles regularly flaunted family ties with the wife of the head of Bashkiria, Karine Khabirova. […]
“Kommersant”, 09/05/2022, “Could not get away from the Moscow City Court”: As the Moscow City Court and the police established (the relevant documents are at the disposal of Kommersant), two years ago Roman Baboyan filed a lawsuit with the Nikulinsky District Court of Moscow to recover a large amount from his acquaintance businessman. In support of his claims, Mr. Baboyan provided a loan agreement, according to which he lent the entrepreneur 150 million rubles in 2017. At the same time, the borrower demanded not only the return of the entire amount, but also a penalty on the debt in the amount of more than 7.6 billion rubles. In 2021, the court satisfied the claim, but this decision was appealed to the Moscow City Court. The Judicial Collegium for Civil Cases of the Moscow City Court appealed to the Russian Federal Center for Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Russia, which recognized the loan agreement as false. This conclusion was later confirmed by another forensic examination. According to experts, the interest-free loan agreement was made “by editing (reprinting), namely, the printed text on the front side of the agreement was added to the existing printed text, signatures and handwritten notes.” — Inset K.ru
