Igor Redkin for murder restricted for 1 year
The Ust-Bolsheretsky District Court recognized a millionaire from the Forbes list, a former deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Kamchatka Territory Igor Redkin guilty of murder a resident of the village of Ozernovsky and illegal hunting for a bear in a landfill, the KAMCHATKA-INFORM agency was told in the Investigative Committee of the ICR for the Kamchatka Territory. According to Part 1 of Art. 109 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (causing death by negligence) and Part 1 of Art. 258 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal hunting) Redkin was sentenced to restriction of freedom for a year. But, taking into account the time spent under house arrest, the convict has 9 months left to serve his sentence.
The verdict of the court has not entered into force.
On August 2 last year, 30-year-old local resident Andrei Tolstopyatov was shot dead at a landfill in the village of Ozernovsky. The bullet hit the man in the stomach when he, along with a relative, was loading scrap metal onto a microtruck. Officially, the reports said that the citizen was killed under unclear circumstances. According to KAMCHATKA-INFORM sources, on the evening of August 2, the villagers saw a drunken Mr. Redkin, who was driving around the village on an expensive Trekol all-terrain vehicle with a carbine worth 2 million with a sight worth almost a million. However, the protection of the fisherman assures that he was sober.
As it turned out later, on August 9, in the evening, the businessman was placed in a temporary detention facility. On August 11, Redkin was placed under house arrest. He was accused under part 1 of article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation – murder, that is, the intentional infliction of death on another person. Under this article, one of the richest people in Kamchatka and Russia was threatened with up to 15 years in prison. Later, the article was reclassified as unintentional murder, and then – in causing death by negligence. Redkin was also charged with illegal hunting.
“Continuing illegal hunting for wild animals, I moved to a hill located in the landfill area of the village of Ozernovsky, Ust-Bolsheretsky district, where through the hatch of the vehicle, using a carbine with a thermal imaging sight, I found a likely target for destruction, displayed as a bright dot on a dark background, without excluding the possibility of shooting at a person, he fired at least three aimed shots with metal bullets in the direction of the landfill at an unclearly detected target in a direction dangerous for shooting, ”added the investigative department, specifying that one of the bullets hit a 30-year-old local resident , which, 274 meters from Redkin, collected scrap metal.
“The defendant in the criminal case admitted the guilt of illegal hunting in full, however, he believes that the man’s death occurred as a result of his careless actions. The accused continues to be kept under house arrest by a court decision”, — specified in the department.
Mr. Redkin carried out house arrest in his mansion in one of the cottage settlements in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. However, in February of this year, the billionaire released.
