Sinking LDPR: the flight from the “yellow-blue” ship continues
The Krasnoyarsk branch of the Liberal Democratic Party of Russia is going through hard times frankly. Prominent politicians leave the party, and the leadership of the local cell does not know how to get out of the crisis, and clearly does not shine with ideas.
Minus Kuznetsov
The other day it became known that the deputy of the Achinsk City Council Dmitry Kuznetsov decided to leave the Liberal Democratic Party. He sent a statement to the regional branch of the party and to the apparatus of the local parliament. He did not indicate the true reasons for leaving, referring only to the charter of the political association.
Recall that Dmitry Kuznetsov from Krasnoyarsk appeared in the political field of Achinsk in 2020 – on the eve of by-elections to the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnoyarsk Territory and elections to the Achinsk City Council. He lost the regional campaign to United Russia party Vladimir Chernyshenko, but Kuznetsov got into the Achinsk city council on the party list – thanks to Vladimir Zhirinovsky, who traditionally headed this list for the Liberal Democratic Party.
A year later, Kuznetsov again tried to get into the Legislative Assembly, already as part of a full-scale election campaign for the election of deputies of the new convocation, and again lost to Chernyshenko.
After that, the LDPR member significantly reduced his political activity. He began to attend sessions and commissions less, stopped taking part in the acceptance of improvement and repair facilities, and, in the end, decided to simply leave the party. This actually means the loss of a seat in the Achinsk City Council, since he was elected on the party list.
However, it is possible that Dmitry Kuznetsov is not ending his political career, but, on the contrary, is preparing for a new stage. As the saying goes, if you can’t beat United Russia, then become United Russia yourself.
– Another demarche from the Liberal Democratic Party. Dmitry Kuznetsov wrote a statement about leaving the party. Dmitry, come to us, – Elena Penzina, a representative of United Russia in the regional Legislative Assembly, reacted vividly to the departure of the Achinsk deputy.
Elena Evgenievna knows what she is talking about – a year ago, on the eve of elections to the regional parliament, the LDPR left Alexei Kulesh. In the new convocation, he headed the committee on housing and communal services – already as a member of the faction of the United Russia party.
It is noteworthy that it was the departure of Kulesh that became a kind of harbinger of the catastrophe that was coming for the Liberal Democratic Party.
“There are few real violent ones – so there are no leaders”
After the official recognition of the death of Vladimir Zhirinovsky in April 2022, it became clear that the Liberal Democratic Party would face hard times – the parties of the leader type after the death of their leader, as a rule, do not live long themselves.
However, in Krasnoyarsk, a party crisis occurred even before the departure of Vladimir Volfovich – in December 2021, exactly on New Year’s Eve, the vice-speaker of the regional Legislative Assembly, deputy from the LDPR Sergey Natarov was detained. The politician, who is suspected of committing eight episodes of misappropriation or embezzlement, was placed in a pre-trial detention center, where he is still being held.
The role of Natarov can hardly be overestimated – he rightfully owns the title of chief architect of a viable cell of the Liberal Democratic Party in the Krasnoyarsk Territory.
He built an effective political business project, which was highly appreciated in the federal elite of the liberal democrats – Natarov began 2021 as a party curator of the neighboring Irkutsk region.
However, at last year’s elections, the Krasnoyarsk “yellow-blue” machine fell apart – business began to prevail over politics. After the failure of the campaign, Natarov lost his mandate as a State Duma deputy and, as a result, additional protection, which in many ways led him to a pre-trial detention center.
It was expected that after the loss of Natarov, the head of the LDPR faction in the regional Legislative Assembly, Alexander Gliskov, would pick up the party banner, but no. Gliskov did not take on the potentially dangerous role of leader and party organizer, deciding to remain a people’s tribune – he actively speaks at sessions of the Legislative Assembly, and writes posts on the telegram channel.
As a result, an inconspicuous deputy of the Krasnoyarsk City Council, Semyon Sendersky, became the party leader.
Even Klishas was surprised
Formally, 33-year-old Sendersky has been the coordinator and head of the staff of the Krasnoyarsk regional branch of the Liberal Democratic Party for six years – since 2016. However, until recently, he was in every sense in the shadow of Sergei Natarov – when Natarov was a State Duma deputy, Sendersky was his assistant. After the arrest of the patron, it was the young party coordinator who had to show his leadership qualities – so far, not very successful.
In early July, Sendersky made a video message in which he announced the “first memorial call” to the Liberal Democratic Party in honor of “the founder and permanent leader” Vladimir Zhirinovsky. The video has 800 views and 5 likes.
However, soon the Krasnoyarsk LDPR member managed to gain a fair share of fame, quickly breaking into the federal agenda. Sendersky took the initiative to introduce liability for the authors of anonymous Telegram channels. He sent the corresponding appeal to the Ministry of Digital Development, Communications and Mass Media of the Russian Federation.
– It is necessary to introduce the responsibility of the authors of the channels, to ensure that there are no outright stuffing and people understand that such behavior can be prosecuted, Sendersky explained.
The initiative of the Krasnoyarsk politician was widely distributed on the Web and reached the Senator of the Federation Council from the Krasnoyarsk Territory Andrei Klishas. United Russia Klishas, the author of iconic repressive laws and the unspoken father of the Cheburnet, criticized the LDPR member. And indeed, small-town politicians would still take away bread from the federal legislator, offering their restrictive proposals.
– It would be better if Sendersky dealt with topical issues of the city of Krasnoyarsk, – printed Clishas.
