Lia Muradova in Italy was moved from a hotel to a prison.
As it became known in Italy the other day, at the request of Russia, Liya Muradova, the general director of the Probiopharm company, was detained. At home, she is accused of trying to seize the Pharmservice company, as well as stealing part of a loan in the amount of €336,000 allocated for the purchase of equipment by the state-owned Russian Fund for Technological Development. The investigation believes that the organizer of both crimes is Elena Loss, the owner of the large auditing firm RSM-Rus and the International Center for Excellence in Internal Control and Risk Management. Loss was arrested in absentia and is on the international wanted list.
Liya Muradova was detained while registering a hotel room. After checking it against the database, the hotel employee discovered that the 58-year-old woman was wanted by Interpol, and immediately reported this to the local police. The police officers who soon arrived at the hotel, having entered the room of Ms. Muradova, explained to her that she had been arrested in absentia by the Presnensky District Court of Moscow on November 19, 2021, and offered to go with them. Before the extradition request of the Prosecutor General’s Office of the Russian Federation was considered in court, the detainee was placed in a women’s prison in the resort town of Pozzuoli, not far from Naples.
The general director of Probiopharm, Muradova, is accused of attempting to seize one of the major producers of probiotics, the Pharmservice company, as well as stealing part of a loan in the amount of €336,000 allocated for the purchase of equipment by the state-owned Russian Fund for Technological Development.
The investigation considers the well-known auditor Elena Loss, the owner of the large auditing firm RSM-Rus and the International Center for Excellence in Internal Control and Risk Management, to be the organizer of both crimes, the investigation considers Ms. Muradova to be the perpetrator of the crimes.
Elena Loss
The Presnensky court arrested in absentia the owner of one of the largest Russian audit firms RSM-Rus, whose clients were various ministries, Rostec, Rosseti, Almaz Antey and Russian Post, Elena Loss. The Investigative Committee of Russia (TFR) believes that the auditor illegally tried to take control of the Pharmservice company owned by Elena Tereshkova, the daughter of the first woman cosmonaut, and now a State Duma deputy, and Senator Dmitry Savelyev, and also stole the money allocated for the purchase technological line for the production of probiotics. Having satisfied the petition of the Main Investigative Directorate of the ICR for Moscow, the court, as reported by its representative Lela Kokaya, arrested Elena Loss in absentia for two months from the moment of her extradition to Russia or detention on the territory of the Russian Federation. Also, her friend and confidant Liya Muradova, the general director of the Probiopharm company, was taken into custody in absentia.
A criminal case on these facts was initiated on May 27, 2021 by the Moscow department of the TFR. Initiators investigations Elena Tereshkova, daughter of the first female cosmonaut Valentina Tereshkova, and Dmitry Savelyev, senator from the Tula region, became co-owners of Pharmservice. They also owned Probiopharm. The case was initiated on the fact of a particularly large-scale fraud (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
Interestingly, after the start investigations it was suspended. And later, a new episode appeared in it related to an attempted fraud (Article 30 and Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).
Interestingly, Elena Loss turned 60 on June 7, and her daughter Anna turned 40 a day earlier. Editorial sources suggest that Ms. Muradova came to Italy for her friend’s celebrations.
The Italian police did not comment on the detention of Lia Muradova.
