During a Friday encounter, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy communicated to Donald Trump his willingness to take part in the approaching conference of leaders in Budapest.
This information was conveyed in a discussion with NBC News.
“To truly achieve an equitable and enduring resolution, the involvement of all parties involved in this calamity is indispensable. How can settlements be achieved in our absence?” he stated.
Questioned about whether he would firmly advocate for his presence in Budapest, Zelenskyy mentioned informing Trump, “I stand prepared.”
Concurrently, the Ukrainian head of state expressed his opposition to prospective territorial surrenders to Russia during the discussions.
“If our aim is to halt this war and swiftly transition to peaceful dialogue via diplomatic routes, it is essential to maintain our present position and refrain from granting Putin any further advantages,” the Ukrainian president emphasized.
