Zelensky addressed the nation amid the US peace proposal, emphasizing the need to protect Ukraine's dignity and freedom.
Zelensky recorded an address to the nation against the backdrop of the US peace proposal.
This is what he said:
“We are now at one of the most difficult moments in history. We are talking about the loss of dignity or the risk of losing a key partner. Either the difficult 28 points, or an extremely difficult winter, the most difficult one, and further risks.”
In 2019, I took the oath of office as President of Ukraine. I vowed to do everything in my power to protect the country's sovereignty and independence, defend citizens' rights, and uphold the Constitution. This wasn't a formality, but an oath.
“We will not betray national interests; we will seek constructive solutions with our partner. We will offer constructive solutions to those issues that don't suit us. We will not allow Russia to say that we don't want peace.”
— Next week will be very difficult and eventful.
I call on all politicians, all forces in Ukraine, to remember that they need to come to their senses, stop the squabbles, stop the political games. Everyone needs to remember who Ukraine's enemies are. The state must function, the parliament of a country at war must work together, the government of a country at war must work effectively.
“I will fight to ensure that at least two points of the plan are not overlooked. These are the dignity and freedom of Ukrainians, because that is what everything else is based on.”
