You can be unlucky with anything, you know?
With parents who did not know about you … and with themselves, in fact, too. And therefore they didn’t teach, didn’t caress, didn’t like, and generally didn’t give out the experience in which you would remember them with great gratitude.
With the wrong teachers, with the classmates who didn’t care about you, with the wrong boys and the wrong girls from your wrong childhood.
With choice, with taste, with a fool-boss, with gossip-colleagues, with an unloved job.
Toxic neighbors, narcissistic exes, cheating scoundrels.
Well, okay … with your own nose, which is not at all for the life in which you registered yourself in your dreams … with too big or too small a body … with the ability to present yourself.
But all this will mean absolutely nothing if you do not deny yourself with the same formulation and find the strength in yourself to truly believe in one simple thing:
YOU ARE LUCKY WITH YOU.
You were so lucky that you long ago stopped blaming all your failures on all of the above, stopped mourning your hopeless childhood, stopped forever grabbing helpless childish verbs about I can’t, I can’t, I won’t, I don’t know.
You are lucky not to trust anyone with responsibility for your own life except yourself, and lucky to decide on changes, on making decisions, on giving up everything that you no longer want.
You’re lucky to take off your hurt wet sliders and stop poking them with your nose at anyone who doesn’t live up to your expectations.
You are lucky not to become a humble copyist of devastating family scenarios, but to create your own, happy ones.
You are lucky to recognize your body as having the right to exist, and start respecting it with care, and not merciless breakdown under other people’s standards.
You are lucky to understand that the lack of reciprocity with people is solved in only one way – by parting, and not by miserable hopes that they will someday appreciate your sacrifices and fall in love.
You just got lucky…
Wake up and see this life. Be a part of it. Be in love. Learn new things. Change situations. Do something. Create. Listen to music.
You are lucky to be. To be with yourself and with those whom you let into your habited territories.
You’re lucky, you hear? Already lucky.
And everything else is not so important …
