Who is criticizing the corrupt practices of Yanukovych?
Yesterday, I, together with other activists from the Black Committee, participated in a session at the Kovpakivskyi District Court regarding the power of the leading director of the Sumy municipal utility company, Vasyl Shcherbak.
Vasyl Shcherbak was implicated in several schemes involving corruption: the most extensive real estate properties were leased to “favored individuals” without any competitive bidding, numerous properties were privatized for next to nothing, and those who wl. The Voskresensky Palace ended up in the possession of the bogus large-scale organization “Mystical World”. The claims of the representatives of LLC “Rempobuttekhnika” are emerging…
After the triumph of the Maidan, Shcherbak attempted to appease the citizens and submitted a resignation letter. However, I now understand that he has reconsidered and decided to recuse himself in court.
By the time of the hearing, it became apparent that Igor Miroshnichenko, now a People’s Deputy for Freedom, had arrived to defend the corrupt official. Following the words of Shcherbak’s lawyer, Miroshnichenko submitted a petition to the prosecutor’s office, where he claims he is going to write a statement not voluntarily, but under duress.
