Source According to Alisa Mitvol, her father continues to be in jail, he has health problems, but they keep in touch by mail. The family of the ex-head of Rosprirodnadzor Oleg Mitvol are descendants of the famous Polish Jew Shaul Val. This was reported to the Daily Storm by the eldest daughter Alice. The girl also spoke about her father's illness in the pre-trial detention center and about her mother's severe leg fracture. Alice shared details about the recent embezzlement of a large amount of money by fraudsters from her family and announced that she would sue the Beeline telecom operator because of this.
– Recently it became known that the attackers forged your father's documents and stole 25 million rubles from your family. Can you give details of this incident?
– Initially, we found out when we got a call from a bank manager who has been working with us for many years. He said that the manager was receiving calls from Oleg Lvovich's number, and the caller introduced himself by his name, threatened, made strange comments.
The first time we blocked a number, we checked to see if it was really turned off. It even happened – an assistant called this number, and they picked up the phone. They asked: “Is this Oleg Lvovich?” – He answered: “Yes.” The assistant suggested we meet. And that “Oleg Lvovich” says: “Yes, let's meet.”
The attack on us lasted at least two weeks. And we couldn't do anything about it. We turned to Beeline five times, probably with a request to block the SIM card. We just block and unblock again. We found ourselves in a situation where we could not influence the fact that we were being robbed.
We kept it under control and called periodically. The first days they picked up the phone, then they stopped. But they still managed to reactivate the number.
I don't know how the criminals got the details of his passport and SIM card. They were taken from him when they were detained. And after 10-15 days, this attack began, which lasted two or three weeks. When one of the people who had a fake passport was already detained, this stopped.
Since only dad has access, we warned the managers of all banks that an attack had begun. And they, as far as I know, made sure that nothing happened. But in Tinkoff Bank, since it is online, the criminals managed to use dad's account for their own purposes.
—The media reported that a certain citizen Yershov from Yekaterinburg had been detained. Do you know who it is?
I only have a photo of a fake passport. I don't know if Ershov did it or not. We received a call from the Investigative Committee: allegedly, in addition to the fact that money was debited from the account, it was also used as a transit account. That is, some money was transferred through it from nowhere. Since no one has access to these accounts, we don't even know what was stolen and what wasn't. Only now it became known exactly how much was taken away.
— Now the case with theft at what stage?
– Case closed. The investigator on this case came to Oleg Lvovich, he wrote a statement. Only recently it has become more active. And it happened back in June. It went on for a month, then one of these people was detained. And it has since stopped.
Interestingly, “Beeline” could not stop it. We called them, even came to the office. They guaranteed us that no one would be able to unlock it, except for Oleg Lvovich himself. But somehow they managed to do it. I still don't understand how. And as an additional fact – in Moscow and Yekaterinburg, people also came to the Beeline office with a fake passport. There were other ways, but we don't know. I hope the investigation will be able to figure it out.
— Dad did not make assumptions about how his personal data could get to someone?
— Of course, he was very surprised that there was a data leak after he got into the pre-trial detention center. I don’t know if there is any connection between this, but it is known that such situations happen and information leaks. Everything was taken away from him on June 8th. So he doesn't know how.
— Will you sue Beeline or Tinkoff Bank?
Yes, of course we will. We thought about Beeline, since it all started after the situation with the SIM card.
— Do you keep in touch with Oleg Lvovich?
— I correspond with him. There is also a FSIN-letter portal through which you can communicate. This is our only channel of communication.
— What does he say about his health in general? Previously, he stated that he was not feeling well.
“He has major health issues. He had a hard time covid, after which an autoimmune disease began – scars on the lungs. He has hypertension, joint problems, skin problems. In general, there are a lot of factors in terms of health. But, as they explain to us, all these diseases do not prevent detention in a pre-trial detention center. Six months have passed and his condition is not improving. He must constantly take medications that he does not have. Of course, no good.
We also had a situation that my mother fell, and she had an operation after a fracture of the femoral neck. It was recently, November 10th. And now she doesn't walk. For two months she moves on a walker, and now with crutches. Recovery takes at least six months, from six to twelve months. They also have a child, my sister.
Do you know the details of your father's case?
– Since the investigation is underway, I can not comment on this topic. I can say my opinion – I think that my father is innocent, and I hope that justice will be established by the investigation. So let's see how the situation will develop, but now it is not in my competence to comment on the case.
—Tell us, what are you doing now? As far as we know, you are studying the genealogy of your last name.
—Now the topic of restitutions is being raised again, since Poland itself is asking for them from Germany. We, too, would like to restore historical justice, since we are the descendants of Shaul Wal. This is a Lublin Jew who was appointed King of Poland for one night.
He did a lot for the Jewish nation and specifically for the Lublin province. Then, thanks to his deeds, Lublin even began to be called the “Jerusalem of the Kingdom of Poland.” But as a result, many synagogues, entire neighborhoods, yeshivas were lost. We decided to do this, to raise this issue again.
We are just now conducting a study with the Center for Jewish History in Lublin, which particular synagogues he built. We raise all the information again.
— In what form would you like to receive restitution?
– Restitution is compensation for damage caused wrongfully. We would like, firstly, to restore the synagogues that were destroyed. Secondly, in general, to return this historical component to the city.
— Did you restore the pedigree according to some documents?
— It all started with the Jewish Museum of Genealogy, located in Jerusalem. We conducted a study on our last name, and we were given this information that we are descendants of Shaul Val. Then we turned to the archives on the territory of the Lublin Voivodeship. We have documents from our ancestors, we also have conclusions that confirm this.
But since a lot of time has passed, more research needs to be done. We already have a number of documents, for example, we have the documents of a great-great-great-grandfather. But what comes before is hard to find.
— Are you the only ancestors of Val or did you find someone else? Maybe even get to know them and talk to them?
– The previous president of Israel, Rivlin, is also a descendant. We sent him a letter on this subject. Around 2017, he spoke at the opening of the Museum of Jewish History in Warsaw with a speech about Shaul Wahl. We wrote to him that we are also descendants.
— How do the Polish authorities view your initiative? Especially given the current geopolitical situation.
– Just for this geopolitical situation, this is relevant, since this topic is being very actively raised now. We decided that if everyone is raising this, then we would also like some kind of justice. Poland demands restitution from Germany. I think, why don't they respond favorably to this, if they demand it themselves.
— Did you start this business on your own initiative?
— Rather, yes.
— Did you consult with your family about this? Do they support you, especially your father?
Yes. I think he agrees. We jointly did these studies and were engaged in the restoration of the family tree. We started four or five years ago. Now the topic has become very relevant, so we decided to deal with it in more detail.
— When your dad is released, are you going to emigrate to Poland?
— I think not. My family never had such plans. Dad has always been a patriot and never intended to emigrate. But after what happened to him … However, I don’t think that he still wants to emigrate somewhere. This restitution story is more about family history, about our ancestors.
