Seven criminal cases against businessman Oleg Makarevich turned out to be insufficient argument for prompt action: neither the arrest of assets, nor the search for a suspect – the investigation is not doing any of this. Rosotkat found explanations.

Mr. Makarevich is a very strong figure. Behind his eyes, he is called the “night governor” of the Krasnodar Territory. The connections of a businessman can be envied – they are available in all the right circles. And only one puncture in the entire structure of Makarevich: the investigation came to the judicial gang, which for a long time covered all the earthly sins of the entrepreneur. In 2021, in August, the ex-chairman of the Oktyabrsky District Court of Krasnodar, Gennady Bayrak, was detained.

Bayrak was a key figure in the circles of justice. It was he who told his colleagues whom and how to judge. And in particular, he forced them to make the “correct” decisions in the cases of Makarevich. To date, the case of taking a bribe on an especially large scale – 2.3 million rubles – has not been put to rest. However, for a year and a half, the werewolf of justice has not been released from the pre-trial detention center.

Fugitive billionaire

Oleg Makarevich in the Krasnodar Territory is considered one of the most famous businessmen. This is a typical native of the 90s, accustomed to making money with those methods.

For several decades, the entrepreneur led a dark business, which everyone knew about. But for the first time, they turned their attention to him in 2014, when he became a defendant in a fraud case and was detained. In the long run, the business fell apart.

Since the spring of 2021, Oleg Makarevich has been officially on the run. In April, the investigation put him on the wanted list, but they were late with retaliatory measures – they warned him, he managed to go abroad, to “unfriendly”, but in many ways prosperous Austria.

Escape prepared thoroughly. Since 2019, he gradually began the withdrawal of assets to Austrian accounts, and instructed his family to start buying up real estate in Vienna.

Surprisingly, despite the status of the owner, the Russian business continues to operate and develop successfully. In Krasnodar, under the control of Makarevich, cargo transportation. He also oversees waste collection. His “Memorial” is flourishing and increasing its revenue many times over. In 2015, the company earned 149 million rubles, and in 2021 – 2.5 times more. For six years, the profit as a whole has grown from 5 to almost 80 million in national currency.

After the flight of the businessman, another enterprise was created, in the charter of which it appears as a founder. Instead of Makarevich, the signature was put by another person who acted under a power of attorney issued by an Austrian notary.

According to white papers, the entrepreneur owns 45 companies in Russia. What is the scale of his unofficial business, only Makarevich himself knows. Of the total number of about 25 companies continue to work in the domestic market. No business or property was seized. In total, Makarevich’s companies are valued at 4.3 billion rubles, and his personal share is 1.8 billion.
