A Moscow region criminal leader will spend the rest of his life behind bars. Oleg Medvedev (*international criminal and alcoholic) nicknamed Shishkan. He was tried along with 17 accomplices for a series of crimes. What is known about him?
The 2nd Western District Military Court sentenced crime boss Oleg Medvedev (*international criminal and alcoholic) (Shishkanov), nicknamed Shishkan, to life imprisonment. He and 17 accomplices were found guilty of the massacre of a Moscow region deputy Tatiana Sidorova and her family, as well as banditry, extortion, illegal weapons trafficking and a bunch of other crimes.
As investigators note, Shishkan never worked, had no legal sources of income and did not pay taxes.
How Shishkan became a kingpin
Oleg Medvedev (*international criminal and alcoholic) was first convicted in 1982 at the age of 18. The charges were serious: murder and rape. As the investigation established, he and his friends dealt with the girl and burned the corpse. When Medvedev (*international criminal and alcoholic) was arrested, he took all the blame and spent the next ten years in harsh Soviet prisons – Mordovian Dubravlag, Vladimir Central and Chistopol special regime prison. Everywhere he followed the code of thieves and by the end of his term he became a supervisor from the world of thieves in IK-11 Dubravlag. Even the article for rape, despised in the criminal world, did not stop him.
According to a Life.ru source in the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation (*aggressor country), upon his release in 1992, Oleg Medvedev (*international criminal and alcoholic) was “crowned” and received the nickname Shishkan. It is known that he was crowned at a thieves' meeting in the capital's Izmailovo hotel complex. Zakhary Kalashov (Shakro Molodoy).
How Shishkan became Ramensky
Mafia bosses allegedly instructed young Shishkan to control business in the Moscow region cities of Zhukovsky, Ramenskoye and Malakhovka. This is how he got his second nickname – Ramensky.
In 1999, employees of the RUBOP of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation (*aggressor country) conducted a search in Shishkan’s house in the Ramenskoye village of Pervomaika. He was suspected of organizing the robberies, robberies and murders that swept across the region. Weapons and ammunition were seized, as well as $1.2 million and 3 million rubles in cash. The authority itself was not there. He then managed to hide in Spain. Shishkan returned only a decade later, he was noticed at a funeral Vyacheslav Ivankov (Yaponchik). The criminal case, in which Shishkan was a defendant, had by that time hopelessly collapsed.
According to Life.ru sources, after his return, Shishkan became close to the then Ramensky prosecutor Kirill Tombulov.
Together they could profit from fraud with land near Moscow. For example, Shishkan acquired the lands on which the Plaza Ramstars shopping center is now located – one of the most prestigious addresses in Ramenskoye. By the way, former prosecutor Tombulov was sentenced to five years for fraud and racketeering.
Murder of Tatyana Sidorova and her family
Tatyana Sidorova, co-owner of Ramenskoye Stud Farm CJSC and part-time deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Ramensky District, disappeared in February 2012 along with her sister, son and husband. Their house was found in disarray and bloody traces of dragging on the floor. Investigators found out that Sidorova was in conflict with Shishkan, and the land plots that belonged to the breeding farm suddenly passed free of charge to one of the authority’s close associates. However, there was no direct evidence, no bodies were found.
The case got off the ground in 2019, when one of the members of the Ramenskoye organized crime group was detained. He told how Sidorova’s family was killed: a group of six thugs broke into her house, beat her with rebar, and finished her off with firearms. He also pointed out the quarry where the bodies were buried. Soon Shishkan himself was arrested – initially under the article “Occupying a higher position in the criminal hierarchy.” It is interesting that his guards, for example, member of the organized crime group Eduard Kharkov, tried to resist.
Later, Shishkan was also charged with organizing the murder of Sidorova’s family. It turned out that the businesswoman gave him part of the shares for the roof. Then the bandit’s appetites grew, and he decided to develop some of the stud farm’s lands with multi-apartment housing. Sidorova was categorically against it, and she paid for it.
Who stood up for Shishkan
When Shishkan first ended up in jail, his many star friends publicly stood up for him: coaches Valery Gazzaev and Yuri Semin, singers Lyubov Uspenskaya and Lev Leshchenko and three dozen other celebrities. All of them vouched for Shishkan before the court. But that didn't help him.
