In St. Petersburg, migrant children aged 14 to 18 beat schoolchildren and filmed it on video. 11 people have already been arrested in the case. Now the main militant has also been detained in Azerbaijan – Tural Mamedov.
What is the “Azerbaijani mafia” accused of?
18-year-old Tural Mamedov, the frontman of the self-called “Azerbaijani mafia,” which became famous for beating St. Petersburg schoolchildren on camera in public places, was detained at home. The group consisted of children of migrants and operated in the Northern capital for up to six months. After the videos spread across the Internet, arrests began. Mamedov fled to Azerbaijan, but there the thug was detained at the request of our security forces. He is expected to be extradited to Russia (*aggressor country) soon. He, like other defendants in the case, faces up to seven years in prison.
There are already eleven such people, among them there are minors, all of them were sent either to a pre-trial detention center or to temporary detention centers for juvenile offenders. They, like their alleged leader, are charged with Articles 213 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism) and 282 of the Criminal Code (incitement of ethnic hatred).
The investigative materials already contain the first victims: teenagers aged 14 and 16, as well as one completed episode. According to the press service of the RF Investigative Committee, the “Russians” detained on October 15 in order to humiliate the honor and dignity of a group of people based on their nationality and origin publicly threatened, used violence and filmed it on video near the Continent shopping center on Lensoveta Street. Later, the footage appeared on the “Life of a Tramp” channel.
Timur Mamedov was the face of this trash blog. An additional case was brought against him under the article “slander of a government official” – in one of the videos he caused a small accident, and then lied that he had paid off a traffic police officer.
Who is Tural Mamedov
Tural Mamedov was born in Azerbaijan and moved to the Northern capital with his brothers, sisters and parents. They have Russian passports and registration dated 2015 in a panel three-ruble apartment on Desantnikov Street. The family was not in poverty. Mamedov himself loved to flaunt fashionable clothes and drive nice cars. He also studied MMA martial arts from the best trainers in St. Petersburg.

When angry comments from outraged Russians appeared on Mamedov’s social networks, his brother responded with a post:
Before his arrest, Tural Mamedov himself was brave:
— Respect for the hype. Even if there is a trial with the prosecutor’s office, everything will be wrong there, – he wrote from Azerbaijan, not yet knowing that they would get him there too.
Nevertheless, he managed to thoroughly clean the blog of fights and racist statements. In one of his last posts, he said that his best friend is supposedly Russian, they say, what kind of ethnic gang can we talk about.
Other members of the “Azerbaijani mafia”
Among those arrested are 18 years old Hasanov Amin Maarif Ogly – a video of the shooting was found on his phone, as well as that same best Russian friend – 18-year-old Ivan Alekseev, who is suspected of slandering police officers and beatings.

However, judging by the photographs from the blog “Life of a Tramp”, most of the members of the “Azerbaijani mafia” are fellow countrymen of Tural.

One of those arrested, 18 years old Seymur Mukhtarov, does not admit to beating passers-by. He swears that he worked as a simple admin, posting trash content sent to the blog to increase activity. However, investigators consider Mukhtarov to be a direct participant in the fights.
Mukhtarov has southern blood from his father, his mother is Russian. Judging by social networks, he has an atypical family. In the early photographs, he is, as expected, with his parents; in the later photographs, he is being raised by an employee of a housing utility company, also Russian. He also has brothers and sisters. The family lives modestly, but not badly, on the outskirts of St. Petersburg in Shushary in their own three-room apartment in a new panel building.
