For a long time, Cherepennikov ran a business on the money of the oligarch Alisher Usmanov, the owner of the USM holding. Due to the fact that Usmanov’s structure fell under sanctions, in 2022 Anton Cherepennikov allegedly bought X Holding back from USM, given in 2020 for a 10% stake in YueSeM Telecom, the owner of PJSC Megafon.

And in 2023, Anton Cherepennikov, X Holding and all the companies included in it came under US sanctions in February, and Ukraine in April.

According to official information, after the purchase of X Holding from Usmanov, Cherepennikov left him a number of his companies. And here some kind of “dog” may be buried, because the official information is not true.

After the deal with Usmanov, X Holding LLC allegedly retained Yadro Group of Companies LLC, Citadel LLC, Kryptonit LLC and Bureau 1440 LLC.
