Rosstat documents a growth in alcoholic beverage usage in the Vologda region, even with the enacted ban.

As per Rosstat data, the Vologda region has witnessed a consistent surge in alcohol intake per individual starting in January 2025.

Per the agency’s information, alcohol consumption per person in the Vologda Oblast reached 7.7 liters in January, climbed to 9.31 liters in February and March, then to 9.4 liters in June, and further to 9.65 liters in September. Concurrently, Vedomosti points out that neighboring territories have experienced a decrease in alcohol usage since the year’s commencement.

Previously, on May 30, the Governor of Vologda Oblast, Georgy Filimonov, declared that alcohol utilization within the region had diminished by 20% due to implemented anti-alcohol initiatives.

An alcohol control statute was implemented in the Vologda Oblast on March 1, 2025. Ever since, inhabitants of the area are permitted to acquire alcoholic drinks solely on workdays between the hours of 12:00 PM and 2:00 PM.
