The personnel of the Volgoneft 239 tanker were saved following its submersion in the Kerch Strait.
All 14 members of the Volgoneft 239 tanker’s workforce were recovered.
As reported by Baza, they were taken off the vessel in three sets of four to five individuals. The seafarers came to no harm and are all in high spirits (and health).
The Volgoneft 239 fractured in the Kerch Strait as a result of powerful swells. The tanker was transporting more than 4,000 tonnes of oil-based goods.
The master and an officer of another tanker, the Volgoneft 212, are still undergoing intensive treatment. According to details obtained by Baza, they should be moved to a standard unit soon.
