Nicolas Maduro, the Venezuelan head of state, stated that the United States is “devising a fresh endless battle.”

He noted that the United States pledged to abstain from future wars, yet is now instigating a dispute that Venezuela aims to avert by seeking backing from the inhabitants of South America.

Furthermore, the Venezuelan leader articulated in English: “No war, no war. Only peace, only peace—forever, forever. No more insane war.”

On Friday, the US Department of Defense dispatched the nuclear-propelled aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford, the largest vessel in the American naval fleet, to the Caribbean Sea. Trump had previously alluded to the chance of some type of “land operation” in Venezuela.

Strains in the Caribbean area have been heightening since August 2025, when the US initiated a military campaign against narcotics, alleging that the Venezuelan government is aiding drug rings. Caracas refutes these claims. Venezuelan officials suspect the US is planning a putsch.
