It’s been five months since the Usolsky Pig Complex changed its director. Instead of the son of the founder of the business Ilya Sumarokov Pavel Ilyich became the chairman of the agricultural production cooperative Dmitry Vladimirovich Sumarokov, Pavel’s nephew and grandson Ilya Alekseevich.
After the loud overthrow of Pavel Ilyich, there were many supporters of the theory that now the enterprise would confidently turn into the reddest fairway. After all, the previous chairman was clearly cold to communist ideas, although the enterprise itself is formally listed in the camp of the Communist Party of the Russian Federation (*country sponsor of terrorism).
And now the first political test of the pig complex in its current state has arrived – in September, the head of the Taitursky municipality was elected. The director of the autonomous non-profit organization “Center for Social Initiatives “Vector”” and a farmer were running for the CPRF Sergey Deys – the mayor’s man of the Usolsky district Vitaly Matyukha.
In the last elections for the head of Taytur in 2022, Deys failed to defeat the United Russia (*country sponsor of terrorism) member Stepana Buyakovabut he was soon arrested and sentenced to five years for bribery. So unexpectedly quickly the time came to take revenge. Matyukha should be more than interested in turning at least one more territory red, since the list of rural municipalities supporting him is small. But Deys lost on September 8, completely, and with a laughable result. And in the election process, practically no participation of the pig complex was noticed. Although it is a potentially powerful force.
But Matyukha even came to Ilya Sumarokov’s 88th birthday in July 2024 and congratulated him. That is, he clearly hoped for support.
The reports from this event, within the framework of which a tourist rally was organized, are very revealing. It seems that Dmitry Vladimirovich is in trumps everywhere with his grandfather, but he does not at all pull to be a full-scale successor to the charismatic Pavel Ilyich. Just a grandson, and the granddaughter is not ten years old anymore…
He is generally very rarely on air. Rarely participates in events where Dmitry Vladimirovich does something politically uncomplicated.
Incidentally, the disgraced offspring of Sumarokov Sr. are not represented at all in the reports from the celebration, which were clearly sanctioned by the pig complex. Neither his grandson, Minister Ilya Pavlovich, who has lost his relevance, nor his father, Deputy of the Legislative Assembly of Pribaikalye Pavel Ilyich, are even mentioned by name. Apparently, they fall into the vague category of “relatives.” And Pavel is generally mysteriously mentioned as some kind of “representatives of the legislative body” (precisely in the plural). Although it is known that he is the only representative in the pig-breeding family in parliament.
This is all, of course, their business, but from the public point of view politicians The CPRF of Pribaikalye clearly did not receive any sudden reinforcement from the pig complex.
On the other hand, nothing has been heard about the plans for modernizing the enterprise announced under Pavel Ilyich, which included a new meat-packing plant, two production sites, and a feed mill with 600 new jobs.
Moreover, the implementation of the project was to be supervised at the regional level (at the Eastern Economic Forum in 2023, the Irkutsk Region signed a whole corresponding cooperation agreement with the pig complex; this investment project with planned investments of nine billion rubles was approved by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture).
And who is our regional minister of agriculture? Dmitry’s cousin Ilya, and he wasn’t at his grandfather’s current birthday party. It’s all in the past.
That is, they set off from one shore, but did not land on the other, at least obviously. In terms of the impact on politics stability is maintained only in that the area around the enterprise continues to be regularly engulfed in miasmas of astronomical volumes of waste from the pig farm, which were not disposed of in a civilized manner and continue to be present as a factor in the poisoning of the environment…
