The annual contest driving skills among students in private cars
The test program is familiar to the kids from driving school. First they need to show off their knowledge of traffic rules, and then show their driving skills. The winning team received a ticket to the finals. Classic genre “Car Session” from the State Traffic Inspectorate and the institution “Road Safety” almost completely repeats the license exams. The first stage is theoretical, on computers. 13 participants had to answer 20 questions. What distinguished this competition from a standard test was the possibility of making mistakes. True, there are penalty points for them. Another difference is that the competition here is not individual, but team. Amal Bibarsov, a representative of the KIU team, was one of the first to pass the theory. He was among the first to arrive at the start of the second stage of Figure Driving. The student’s driving experience is three years. Amal took part in the competition driving his white Honda. He has had a love for the classics of the Japanese automobile industry since childhood. – Here the steering wheel is on the right – for some reason it’s more convenient for me. When in driving school I had to sit on the left side, it was problematic to practice on the training ground – I did not feel the dimensions of the car. But as soon as I find myself in a right-hand drive car, I immediately become more confident,” Amal shared.
The exercises for the “Auto Session” to some extent repeat the practical part of the traffic police exam, but not completely. According to the head of the REO department of the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation for AMR, Airat Mukhamadiev, now candidate drivers at the site only practice overpasses and driving in confined spaces. Beginners most often have problems with the first one. But this particular element is not in the list of “Auto Session” tests. Little red car When Amal went the distance, the only girl competitor drove up to the start. Also, by the way, in “Japanese”. Aida Fatkhutdinova represented the TISBI team. Her driving experience is 2.5 years. She feels more confident behind the wheel of a full-size sedan. – The little red car is a social stereotype. It’s not about me. In general, I like “Geliki” (“Gelendvagen” – author’s note). I feel more comfortable in big cars, I feel the dimensions better, I think they are more convenient,” the girl said. The competition took place in two competitive classes. “Maxi” included cars more than four meters in length, and those smaller were included in the “Midi” category, medium. Incorrectly assessing the dimensions of your vehicle is a mistake that, according to the judges’ observations, most of the competitors made. One for all Despite the fact that the competition was a team competition, the young virtuosos still had the opportunity to show off their skills in the individual championship. The points earned by each member of the educational institution’s team went towards both general and individual standings. The children’s skills were assessed by competent judges. They are not only driving school teachers, but also traffic inspectors who have seen a lot on the roads. Eldar Muratshin from the APT team managed to make a special impression on them. Very soon the young man will graduate from polytechnic school. He received his driver’s license in April 2023. By the age of 18, he had completed the entire civil minimum. Now he has licenses of categories A, B and C. And in another six months, closer to graduation, Eldar plans to add categories CE and E, that is, he will be able to drive both small trucks with trailers and full-fledged tractors. – I don’t plan to connect my life with driving, but as long as I’m young and have the opportunity to study, I’ll do it. This is knowledge, skills – you never know what will be useful in life, and it is better to be prepared in advance. If you suddenly need it, your license is at hand,” says Eldar Muratshin. Based on the results of the competition, he received the title “Traffic Expert” and showed himself better than others in figure driving. But his team took second place. The students of Almetyevsk Vocational College passed the Autosession with excellent marks. In addition to prizes, they received a ticket to the republican stage of the competition, which will be held in Kazan. Experience from past years According to statistics from the last five years, favorites and constant rivals have emerged in the competition. In 2018, the team from the Polytechnic College took gold. A year later, students from the Trade and Economic College took first place. For two years in a row, in 2020 and 2021, AGNI students won the Autosession. During the pandemic, the capital’s organizers made changes to the competition to avoid gathering many people in one place at once. They introduced an intermediate, zonal stage. Beginning drivers from all over the southeast came to Almetyevsk, which made the competition tougher. And in 2022, APT students again shone at the competition. Repetition is the mother of learning Over the past two years, novice motorists have repeatedly questioned their skills. Last year, 12 traffic accidents occurred in the area due to the fault of novice drivers, killing two people and injuring 17 others. – It’s not for nothing that such statistics were taken – “experience up to 2 years.” During this time, the driver must still gain experience driving in different weather conditions and situations. This is not only an urban environment, but also a highway,” noted Liliya Rafigullina, head of the prevention department of the territorial administration of the State Budgetary Institution “Road Safety Inspectorate” in Almetyevsk. Road safety experts admit that prevention cannot cover everyone at once. Such competitions come to the rescue, where every layer of driving society has the opportunity not only to repeat the theory, but also to consolidate it in practice. In the case of Autosession, the main goal is to reduce the number of accidents among students.
