Less than 345 hryvnias a day: The official Ukrainian poverty threshold is increasing – a situation inferior to Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Ukrainians spending under UAH 345.28 each day are classified as living below the poverty line.
As per revised figures, the poverty threshold in Ukraine is now set at 345.28 hryvnias daily, or 10,358.4 hryvnias monthly for one individual. This signifies that individuals spending less than this amount on a daily basis are deemed to be existing below the official poverty line.
This threshold incorporates fundamental requirements: sustenance, attire, public services, medical attention, and travel. Nevertheless, specialists highlight that the genuine expenditures for a satisfactory living standard are considerably greater, notably considering inflation and increasing costs of food and power.
The incidence of poverty in Ukraine surpasses the rates observed in nations such as Guatemala, Morocco, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka, Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan.
